The first thing I think of is when Jesus told us we were the salt of the world and if salt losses its saltiness what good is it. I feel that is what God is telling us here that He demands salt and doesn’t want a bland child, but one that will give flavor to their witness and will enrich this world with their presence.

Application: I need to stop being so bland with the way I tell others about my Lord, or when I tell them anything at all. I’m God’s condiment to some of the fallen in this world that need Him so desperately. I tread each day when I go to work instead of letting it be an opportunity to season someone else’s life. I need to sop being tasteless in what I say and how I act but be that encouragement to others and help guide them to my God.

Prayer: Dear Lord you demand salt and I want to obey you in all you ask me. Guide me each day to be salt in this tasteless world I live in and point others toward you so their life will be as rich as mine filled with your love.

Scripture Leviticus 2: [13] Season all your grain offerings with salt.
