Scripture 1 Kings 21:4 So Ahab went into his house sullen and displeased because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him; for he had said, “I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers.” And he lay down on his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no food. <\/p>\n
Observation: We are to enter the kingdom of Heaven as a child, but not childish. We are not to pout or throw a tantrum if we don\u2019t get what we want. God has given us so much to want something He has decided not to give or not to give at this time dishonors our Lord. We are not to scheme to get what we want, we are called to be content in every situation and trust in God. To pout is like telling God you don\u2019t care what He desires only your selfish desires are what matters.<\/p>\n
Application: I still pout and become discouraged when things don\u2019t go my way. I need to see how God wants things to go and to follow His desires for my life. If I\u2019m focused on what I want I can\u2019t see what He wants for me, which is what is important. I need to grow up and become a man after God\u2019s own heart and let Him decide what I should have and not have.<\/p>\n
Prayer: My Lord forgive me of my selfish desires, I don\u2019t need anything but you. Fill my heart with generosity and not selfishness and help me lead a life that glorifies you.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
