Providing for Family

Scripture: 1 Timothy 5: [8] If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Observation: This was the scripture God put on my heart when my first wife asked me for a divorce. I didn’t understand at the time she asked for everything except the bills and I thought I deserved more than that, but I listened to God and did what He asked. In return God blessed my obedience in time, helping me get through an uncertain time in my life alone. He blessed me with the most wonderful woman I could imagine and now I’m happier than I’ve ever been before.

Application: God speaks to me all of the time if I would take the time and listen. I need more faith to trust Him even though I don’t understand or agree he is my Lord and desires the best for me. Before making decisions I need to consult with Him and search God’s word for the answers and directions I need.

Prayer: My Lord I can’t thank you enough for your love, mercy and grace in my life. Show me how to be obedient all the time and to be able to hear your voice guiding me on the path you have chosen for me. Increase my faith that I may see you always during the course of the day. I love you Lord may I live a life proving it to you.
