Jesus Saves the Lost

Scripture: Luke 19:[10] For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.”

Observation: I know personally that is true. Jesus continued to look for me and He was so patient as I would hide most of my life from his love. He never gave up and waited until he found my heart and then he saved me.

Application: I know the blessing of knowing Christ and with his love in my heart I need to share that with others. I need to go out and seek out the lost and tell them what Jesus did for me. I have a personal relationship with my Lord, but I’m not called to keep it a secret, but tell others of the love I found.

Prayer: My Lord thank you for not giving up. You found me and loved me. Use me any way you desire and show me how to please you.

God Has Mercy on Sinners

Scripture: Luke 18: 13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, `God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’

Observation: God had mercy on this sinner. When I was totally lost and had nowhere else to go, instead of letting me have what I deserved, God had mercy on me. He lifted this sinner up and took me by the hand and has been leading me through this life.

Application: To humble myself each day and ask God to guide me. To know I need God’s mercy each day and to seek him and to thank him. To live a life dependent on him.

Prayer: Dear Lord I thank you for your mercy and I humble myself before you. Help me be this man you call me to be and direct my path, that I may fulfill the purpose you have created me for. You are worthy of all that I am, show me how to honor you today.

The Kingdom of God is Within Us

Scripture: Luke 17: [21] nor will people say, `Here it is,’ or `There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is within you.”

Observation: The Kingdom of God is love, the scripture tells us God is love. The Holy Spirit dwells within us, the Kingdom of God. We have so much resource within us and power from God yet we don’t use it very often. The kingdom is within us and we allow it to be locked away instead of rejoicing in its presence.

Application: To release the power of God within us so that others may share in the glory of the Kingdom. To live in confidence knowing God is with me to help me live this life in a way that would please him. Share with others the love God has for me and them.

Prayer: Dear Father thank you for your love, because without it I couldn’t live. I ask you to show me how to use the power you have given me in a way that will bring glory and honor to you. I love you and you deserve all that I am.

Can Only Serve One Master

Scripture: Luke 16: 13 “No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.”

Observation: I do think of money to often and every time I do whether about my financial situation or desiring something else in this world it takes time away from thinking of God and what he desires of this life. I choose to serve God, but I do get side tracked from time to time.

Application: As Lord and my Master God needs to take first and only place in my life. My thoughts should be godly thoughts and the only way this can be accomplished is through the power of the Holy Spirit. I need to devote time in reading, praying and service to draw near and serve my Master.

Prayer: Dear Lord guide your servant. Please take the desires of this world away from me and but on my heart what you desire me to do in glory and honor to you. You are worthy of all I have and use them in service to you.

I was Lost, but Not Anymore

Scripture: Luke 15: [32] But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ ”

Observation: I started to cry when I read the story of the prodigal son. I’m not sure exactly why, it must be because for most of my life I was lost. Using up everything God has given me until there was nothing left. In desperation I turned to God, because there was no where else to go and he received and loved me. He should have turned his back but he didn’t.

Application: To help others find the joy and coming back home to their Father. That He will receive them with love and compassion. This is where we all belong, pending our lives with Him.

Prayer: Dear Father thank you for loving me and welcoming me back to your grace. Show me how to use the gifts and talents you have given me to draw others back to you.

How To Give A Banquet

Scripture: Luke 14: [13] But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind,

Observation: God has put on my heart to do a banquet for the homeless in the area. Not just a meal but a special meal like Prime Rib and Salmon. Whenever I get involved in the Rock of Faith Foundation and we do an event God puts on my heart to go a step beyond, not just to feed but to bless. That’s how God looks at the less fortunate and poor to bless and comfort them.

Application: God has blessed me so that I can be a blessing to others and that is what I should be doing. Helping those who can’t help themselves and to reach out to others in God’s name above just a hand out but a blessing. I need to take every opportunity I can to help and make my to fulfill God’s purpose.

Prayer: Dear Father open my eyes to the things you want me to do. Show me how to fulfill the purpose you have created me for that I will step out and help others taste your banquet.

We Were Created to Bear Fruit

Scripture: Luke 13:[9] If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.’ ”

Observation: As Christians we are created to bear fruit. We have been given gifts of the Holy Spirit and have talents that we need to use to bear this fruit. Bearing fruit is not a request but a command and a desire within us. If we do not bear fruit then are we really a Christian? According to this scripture, no.

Application: Bearing fruit is still a choice, a choice of love for the Father. To show my love I need to be about my Father’s business which is to spread the gospel and bring others to him. To help others, encourage and make a difference in this world in glory and honor to God.

Prayer: Dear Father I do love you. Show me what to do that will please you and make you proud of me. Guide me today in bearing fruit for your Kingdom. Take this laziness away from me and make bearing fruit for you my top priority.
