Need to Listen More Than Question

Scripture Matthew 22:46And no one was able to answer Him a word, nor from that day on did anyone dare question Him anymore.

Observation: This is one of my favorite verses. I can picture the pharisees trying to trap Jesus in something He might say. They’ve been trying since the beginning, but finally gave up. I wonder how much they might have learned if they listened instead of questioning Him. The pharisees might have become His disciples instead of His enemy. I bet they are regretting their choice now.

Application: I need to listen more and speak less. As people talk I’m already planning on what I’m going to say instead of listening to them. I need to be a better listener especially when it comes to God. When I pray, I need to take time to stay still and listen.

Prayer My Lord, You know me better than I know myself. You know how my mind races and it’s hard for me to be still. Please help me hear your voice and obey what You command me to do.
