Scripture: Luke 18: [17] I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

Observation: Children are so trusting when they are little, without worry or care, they do things out of joy. Not concerned about tomorrow, but enjoying the moment. I get so wrapped up in my troubles I can’t see God at times, so concerned about the things in this world I can’t see my heavenly home.

Application: I need to trust as a child in God’s loving grace, that He cares for me. Focus on His love and to be filled with joy no matter what might be happening around me. He is my Father and I should trust completely in Him.

Prayer: Dear Father hold me in your arms and guide me through this life until I come home to you.

Scripture: Luke 17: 5 The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”

Observation: I pray this each day that my faith may increase. However each day seems to be the same, I worry, focus on my problems, am to lazy to do God’s will and a lack of faith to my Lord who has gotten me through so many difficulties. What is it going to take before I get that mustard seed of Faith?

Application: I need to work on giving my life to Christ. My thoughts, actions, words, all that I am need to honor God. If a situation comes up to do what God wants me to do, then by faith I need to put it in His hands.

Prayer: My Lord increase my faith, so I may live the life you desire of me.

Scripture: Luke 16: 13 “No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.”

Observation: So much of time is spent worrying about money whether paying bills, concern about being able to pay off my house before I retire or possessions. Do I spend more time thinking of these things or God’s plan? I’m not sure. I should be able to say I trust God and I serve Him only, He is my master.

Application: I should catch myself whenever I start being concerned about money matters and instantly pray to God and thank Him for all I have and be aware of my thoughts and make sure God is in the center of my life.

Prayer: Dear Lord you are my Master and I am grateful you allow me to be your servant. May I please you and glorify your name.

Scripture: Luke 15: [7] I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

Observation: When I repented and gave my life to Christ, God and the angels rejoiced. How unbelievable that I matter, that God would even take notice, yet rejoice. A man who lived a sinful life in disregard to God, yet God never gave up on me.

Application: I need to give God more opportunities to rejoice. It’s time to make a much bigger difference in the kingdom by reaching out to those who do not know Him, helping show others the way.

Prayer: My Lord make me useful to You. Show me how to bring others to your saving grace. Open my eyes, ears then mouth to speak to those who don’t know you.

Scripture: Luke 14: [10] But when you are invited, take the lowest place, so that when your host comes, he will say to you, `Friend, move up to a better place.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all your fellow guests.

Observation: So many times I want to be recognized and have the seat of honor. I want to speak instead of listen, I want people to say good things about me more than I want to say good things to others. I try to be humble but it doesn’t come naturally. I shouldn’t want to take the lowest seat in hopes to be brought up, but to glorify God.

Application: Start focusing more on God than myself. Stop trying to get the attention of others, but think how should I act to honor God. Stop trying to be put first and put God First.

Prayer: Dear Lord may I honor you by putting others before me, that I will not be concerned by being in the light of this world, but be the light to guide others to you.

Scripture: Luke 13: [9] If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.’ ”

Observation: It is our calling to bear fruit. If we are truly saved and gave our heart to Jesus we would bear fruit. It would be our desire to use the gifts and talents given us to glorify God. We can not call ourselves Christians and not bear fruit. If we stay disobedient and refuse to honor God with what He has given why would He want to waste the soil on us when someone else is willing to bear fruit.

Application: I need to make an effort each day to do something that will glorify God. People around me should be able to enjoy the fruit of my love for Christ. There should be no doubt to others that my life is planted in the richness of Christ.

Prayer: Dear Lord enrich me with your word and guide me this day and direct me in your presence to show others by what I do and say that I belong to you.

Scripture: Luke 12:8 “I tell you, whoever acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man will also acknowledge him before the angels of God.

Observation: How often in a day do I acknowledge God before people? Do I let them use His name in vain without saying anything? How many times do I say His name in appreciation? Do the people around me know how I feel about my Lord and Savior? Do people what to be introduced to Him by observing me?

Application: I need to be a better witness for Jesus. I need to seek opportunities to tell others about my Lord and Savior. I need to be a better example of what a follower of Jesus should be.

Prayer: My Lord give me an opportunity to acknowledge you before others. Give me that heart to honor you.
