Am I Willing to Submit?
Scripture: Hebrews 5:7 During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.
Observation: My petitions are not heart felt. Most of the time when I pray my mind wanders and I forget what I just said. My focus is not on God, but the things that are in the world. Now I’m without a job and I don’t know why God has me in this place and I should be crying out to him and then listening. Instead my mind is running wild trying to figure out a way out of my situation, yet I don’t fully submit to my God.
Application: To submit myself to my Lord and cry out for his will in my life. To be focused on his desires, not mine and to trust him with all of my heart, with all of my life.
Prayer: Dear Father make me this man that you desire me to be. I can’t do it on my own, there is no good thing within me. Continue to change me and strengthen me and open my eyes to the things around me that you want me to see.
