Keeping Your Word
Scripture Deuteronomy 23 [23] Whatever your lips utter you must be sure to do, because you made your vow freely to the LORD your God with your own mouth.
Observation: When we speak we need to think. If we are going to tell someone we are going to do something we need to do it. If it is God we make a vow and we better do it. God always keeps His word and we are called to imitate Christ. When we fail to keep our word we are sinning and following Satan. So we need to think before we speak and make sure what we say we can do.
Application: I want to think and plan out what I am going to do for my Lord. I should be making vows to my Lord and not avoiding them because I might not keep them. I need to be working for my God and touching the lives of others in His name. I need to be looked at as a man of his word to others so that when I give God the glory others will know that I’m an honest man, a man that honors God.
Prayer: Dear Lord I want to be a better man. I want to do more in your name to bring others closer to you. I make a vow to you today that I will try harder to finish this race in a way that will glorify you, but I need your help. I’m weak and a sinner guide me Lord to complete this vow in glory and honor to you.
