To Finish the Race

Scripture: Acts 20:[24] However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me–the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.

Observation: So many times my mind is not focused on the race and I continue to fall behind. God has given me a purpose a reason for my existence and that is to bring others to Him. Most of the time I’m not doing what I was created for. God has given me the gifts, talents and time to run this race and I need to stop walking and start running.

Application: I need to be bold and give my life to fulfilling the purpose God has created me for. Look for opportunities to share my love for my God. Get running and have my eyes fixed on the finish line and run as fast as I can.

Prayer: Dear Lord give me the strength to run this race in glory and honor to you. May I finish well and see you smiling at the finish line with your arms outreached to me. I love you Father, may I share that love with others.

Don’t Be Afraid

Scripture: Acts 18:9 One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent.

Observation: Why are we so afraid to speak out in the name of Christ? I believe it is more embarrassment than anything else and what a shame it is to be to embarrassed of our Lord and Savior. God has given us one directive and that is to spread the Gospel and He assures us that He is with us and there is nothing to be afraid of.

Application: I need to speak boldly to others about my Lord and Savior so others may hear the good news and not perish but have eternal life. Pray each day for God’s guidance and direction on what would please Him and not be afraid to approach others in his name.

Prayer: My Lord and my God, direct me each day to be bold and to speak out in your name. May I touch the heart of others and help open their eyes to your love and spread the gospel. I belong to you and desire to please you, help direct my path.

God Determines

Scripture: Acts 17:[26] From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live.

Observation: God determines what is best for me, where I should live what he wants me to do. He is the one I should be following, not my own instincts or desires. He has a plan for my life and I want to fulfill that plan in glory and honor to Him.

Application: To pray and follow God each day and ask him what he wants of me. I want to be where he desires me to be. Make sure that I do not stray from God put stay close and listen for His instructions.

Prayer: Dear Lord open my eyes to your desires and that I will be where you want me to be and I will follow you and do what you want me to do. I belong to you I am your servant, your child and your bond slave, lead me each day.

The Joy Of Belief

Scripture: Acts 16:[34] The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God–he and his whole family.

Observation: I remember that is where my joy came from, believing in God and it is still the source of my joy. I changed so much when I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior. The way I act and think, the way I treat others and my priorities are all different now. I want others to experience the joy I found in God.

Application: To allow God to work in my life and tell others of the peace and joy He has brought to me. Tell others of what God wants to do for them and all they need to do is believe and trust in Him.

Prayer: Thank you God for the way you changed my life. Continue to change and open my eyes to your wonders and to tell others about your great love. Show me how to show my love for you.

The Grace of Our Lord

Scripture: Acts 15:[11] No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are.”

Observation: The grace of God is so difficult to accept at times. How can God forgive us for all the things we do against Him and others? Yet He doesn’t just forgive us He blesses us everyday. Yet it is by His grace that we are saved and all we need to do is believe in Him.

Application: Accept God’s grace and tell others of His mercy and love for us. Appreciate each day this wonderful gift of God’s grace and live in gratitude, knowing how much God loves me.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your mercy and grace. For giving me a new heart and new life on this earth and in eternity. Guide me to tell others and bring them closer to you. Thank you Lord.

Observation: God provides us with everything we need, He cares for His children. My life was miserable without Him, but when I found my Lord He brought joy into my life, a joy I never experienced before. God opened my eyes and softened my heart so I may experience His true love.

Application: Realize everything I have and am comes from God. Thank Him each day and take nothing for granted. Help lead others to God’s grace so they to may experience the joy I now have in God.

Appointed for Eternal Life

Scripture: Acts 13: 48 When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and honored the word of the Lord; and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.

Observation: I wonder why God appointed me for eternal life. I was a terrible man before Jesus came into my life as Lord and Savior. Yet I know that He has given me eternal life. As many times as I tried to end this life He wouldn’t allow it, I had an appointment and He wasn’t going to allow me to miss it.

Application: To honor God and to help Him touch the life’s of others by my testimony. To be a witness of my Lord’s love and faithfulness. To thank God each day that I was appointed for eternal life and not take such a wonderful gift for granted.

Prayer: Dear Father thank you for my appointment in your Kingdom. I will never be worthy, but show me each day what you would desire of me and may I please you in all I do. You are so worthy may my love for you show brightly.
