Peace for Our Children

Scripture Isaiah 54:13 All your children shall be taught by the LORD,
And great shall be the peace of your children.

Observation: Wouldn’t it be great if our children were taught the word of God. That they would know the truth about creation and where they came from. That this life is temporary and they have an eternal life of joy. Our schools and society do whatever they can to separate our children from the love of God causing strife and confusion. The world continues to get worse as Satan roams this earth devouring our children.

Application: Find ways to help teach our children the truth about God. Be an example of God’s love to others and take any opportunity to share that love. Start with my children and grandchildren and let them know that their heavenly Father loves them.

Prayer My Lord, we have taken You out of the world that You created. We need you so desperately our children will not survive without you. Please come into their lives and give them peace.

Jesus Saved Me

Scripture Isaiah 53:5: But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.

Observation: Isaiah spoke of Jesus long before He came. Jesus suffered so much to save me and I will never understand why. He has a love that I can’t comprehend. Jesus restored me when He came into my life, He gave me a peace I never had, a purpose and He has never left me. How can anyone show the proper appreciation for all He has done and all He asks that we believe.

Application: I need to speak out more for my Lord. He has given me gifts that should be used to tell others the miracles He has worked in my life. That He is a personal God and He cares for us as individuals as well as all of us as His children.

Prayer My Lord and my God. Thank you, thank you, and thank you. I don’t know how to express my appreciation and love I have for You. Take control I freely give you this life as a living sacrifice may it be holy and pleasing to you.

Our God Reigns

Scripture Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains
Are the feet of him who brings good news,
Who proclaims peace,
Who brings glad tidings of good things,
Who proclaims salvation,
Who says to Zion,
“Your God reigns!”

Observation: This is what every Christian is called to do, spread the gospel, proclaiming salvation to others. I like that it says that it is beautiful to share the good news. This is why we are saved to share with others for God wants none to perish. I don’t know why this is so hard to do at times, but you think it would be natural to share something so wonderful with others. If we came in first at a competition we would boast and display our trophy. There is no greater prize then eternal life.

Application: I need to make this my focus every day to share the good news. Look for opportunities every day to say or do something to show that I belong to Jesus. Share my testimony with any one that will listen explaining how God loves me and that I will be with Him forever.

Prayer My Lord thank you for your love and this precious gift of eternal life with You. Open doors for opportunities for me to share to others and fill me with the Holy Spirit so my words will be right.

Do Not Fear Man

Scripture Isaiah 51:7: “Listen to Me, you who know righteousness,
You people in whose heart is My law:
Do not fear the reproach of men,
Nor be afraid of their insults.

Observation: We are being told if we know the word of God there is no reason to fear others or anything. God knows where we are and what is happening around us. Even what we think might be the worst thing that can happen, death, is really just the beginning of life.

Application: Whatever I’m going through I need to search the scriptures to find God’s answer to my situation, not man. I’m going through the worst time that I know and there is so much information around me I fall into confusion and depression. I need to stay close to God and follow the path that God is making for me.

Prayer My Lord forgive me for being distracted by all that is happening around me. Please fill me with the Holy Spirit and open my eyes so that I may see how you might want to use your servant.

Jesus Suffered for Me

Scripture Isaiah 50:6: I gave My back to those who struck Me,
And My cheeks to those who plucked out the beard;
I did not hide My face from shame and spitting.

Observation: This is just one of the hundreds of prophecies about Jesus in the Bible. This one shows how He suffered for us so that we may have eternal life. Jesus knew all of the scriptures and what He was going to go through, but He did it anyway. I can’t understand that kind of love and never will, but I need to try.

Application: I need to remember all that Jesus went through to save me. It’s not enough to know just that He loved me, but the depth of His love. I need to thank Him every day, but more importantly to tell others about a love that can’t fully be described.

Prayer Dear Lord, I do love you, help me love you the way that will honor you. Give me the strength and courage to share that love with others and point them to you. Can’t wait to be with you for all of eternity.

God Will Not Forget Me

Scripture Isaiah 49:15: Can a woman forget her nursing child,
And not have compassion on the son of her womb?
Surely they may forget,
Yet I will not forget you.

Observation: God uses the most compassionate comparison to show His love for us. He tells of a mother with a newborn that she is nursing and how could such a mother not love her own child. God tells us even if she forgets him, which would seem almost impossible, that He will never forget us, because He loves us so much.

Application: I need to remember God’s love for me every day. I need to thank Him and return that love the best that I can with what I do and say in this world. I need to share that love and tell others of God’s love for them.

Prayer My Lord, I do love You with all of my heart, mind and soul. I have a hard time showing that love and need the help of the Holy Spirit. Please move in my life that others may see you through my life.

God Will Lead Us

Scripture Isaiah 48:17: Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer,
The Holy One of Israel:
“I am the LORD your God,
Who teaches you to profit,
Who leads you by the way you should go.

Observation: I’ve been spending a lot of time at home because the COVID Virus has closed my job down. I spend a lot of time trying to figure out what to do instead of asking God what He desires of me. We feel as if we are the ones that need to make the decisions on what we should do and where we are to go without consulting our Creator. He knows what is best for us and what purpose we have and wants to lead us for our own good and His glory.

Application: I need to stop worrying about what I’m supposed to be doing. I need to spend more time with my Lord asking and then stopping to listen to what He wants me to do. He has given me this time for a reason and I need to ask Him to lead me each day.

Prayer My Lord guide your servant on the way I should go. I’m getting closer to the finish line help me win this race, that I will finish well for your glory. I love you and need your direction in my life.
