Scripture: Romans 15:13 May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Observation: The key phrase here is “as you trust in him” I haven’t been doing that very will lately, it seems I’m always worrying. God has never let me down yet I live my life at times as if I can’t trust him and have to do it on my own. I will never have peace and joy until I trust God completely, because I can’t receive the power of the Holy Spirit until then.

Application: I need to let go of my worries and give them to God. There is nothing that man can do to me that God doesn’t allow and if He allows it there is a reason and He will get me through. Know that God is with me always and seek his face each moment and ask for his guidance.

Prayer: Dear Lord increase my faith that I will trust in you completely. I freely give you this life as a living sacrifice, may it be holy and pleasing to you.

Scripture: Romans 14:23 But the man who has doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin.

Observation: I never looked at lack of faith is sin, but I can see it’s true. Most of my life and thoughts have been from a lack of faith. My negative emotions and the sins I commit are because I don’t trust God to work in my life, which must grieve God. Now with my job I’m uncertain what is happening and I’m anxious and afraid and it’s like telling God I don’t trust you. I didn’t realize until now how much of a sinner I am.

Application: To honor God I need to increase my faith and walk my talk. I can’t tell others it’s in God’s hands if I don’t believe it. I need to remove the doubt in my life and stop worrying about what is going to happen and live a life honoring God.

Prayer: Dear Father help me, increase my faith that I may live a life in glory and honor to you. I am weak, strengthen me to live this life in a way that is pleasing to you.

Scripture: Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Observation: That truly is what I want and pray for each day is God’s will for my life. He has placed it on my heart and I won’t be happy until I’m on the right path. The only way I’ll know is when I’m not thinking of things in this world but have my mind focused on my God.

Application: To be focused in God all day long. To think what I’m doing and how it affects my relationship with Him. To guard my thoughts at all times making sure they are pure and honoring to him during the day. To pray continually throughout the day and ask if I’m on the right path.

Prayer: Dear Lord I’m here for one reason to serve you and fulfill your will in my life. I’m a sinner and can’t do it on my own, I need you and want you to direct my steps each day.

Scripture: Romans 11:36 For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.

Observation: God is everything. He has created all things, there is nothing He hasn’t created. I’m here only because He has desired me to be here. He deserves all the glory, there is nothing I can do on my own if I do anything that deserves praise the praise belongs to God. He is the beginning and the end and all things exist because of Him.

Application: Realize that if I accomplish anything that God deserves the glory, If someone compliments me on something that I did or am God should get the glory. My life should represent what God can do and not what I can do.

Prayer: My Lord you deserve all the glory, my obedience and praise. May I live this life in a way that pleases you and glorifies your name, not mine.

Scripture: Romans 10:8 But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming:

Observation: The word of God is in my heart and the Holy Spirit brings it to my mouth when I need it to witness, encourage and rebuke others. I don’t use it often enough, I don’t put myself in situations where I can witness effectively for my Lord.

Application: I need to continue to always be in the word of God so it is planted deep within my heart. I need to meditate on his word day and night so I will be ready when God puts people in my path that I may witness to them. Put myself in situations where I can tell others about the gospel of Faith.

Prayer: Dear Lord take other distractions from me so I’m focused on doing your will. Place deep in my heart your word that I may share it with those that don’t know you.

Scripture: Romans 9: ” [21] Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?

Observation: I am a creation of my Father and he has the right to do with me as he desires. I was created for a purpose and yesterday I was able to fulfill a little of it when I was part of the outreach at the beach for the homeless. Teri and I cooked and organized the outreach and God blessed it. This was of simple thing but to me I felt honored to glorify God yesterday.

Application: To continue to search for the ways God wants to use me for his glory. To stay in his will so I’m aware of the purpose I’m to play in this life until it’s time to go home with my God. No matter what use God has for me in my heart it is noble because I serve the King.

Prayer: Dear Lord I’m your servant, your slave. Use me as your desire do not let me turn away from the things you want to use me for, I belong to you

Scripture: Romans 8:6 The mind of the sinful man is death. But the mind controlled by the spirit is life and peace

Observation: This is why I don’t have peace most of the time I’m not letting the spirit control my life I’m trying to live it in my own flesh. God knows what is best for me yet I try to do things on my own disregarding how the Holy Spirit wants to lead me.

Application: I need to trust God with all my heart and lean not on my own abilities but allow the Holy Spirit to guide me each day. I need to let go of my own abilities and give them up to God to use.

Prayer: Dear Lord take this servant I freely give you this life as a living sacrifice and ask you to guide me this day. To fill me with the Holy Spirit and give me peace.
