Scripture: John 12: [26] Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.

Observation: I don’t only need to serve but follow in the ways of my Lord. To have the same attributes He has, loving, caring, serving others in his name. Not only when I want to but whenever and wherever he calls me to be.

Application: Release myself of this selfish attitudes I have and give myself fully to God. To serve unconditionally and consistently for the glory of God and not myself. To follow Jesus wherever He leads me.

Prayer: Dear Lord guide your servant to do and be where you want me to be. I am you bond slave speak to me so I may know the desires of your heart. I love you master.

Scripture: John 11:25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies;

Observation: How much do I believe in my Lord. If I truly believed him I would not worry, be angry, hold a grudge, look at others with anything but love my God with all of my heart, mind and soul.

Application: I know Jesus is my Lord and Savior, but I also must believe everything he says in his word and be obedient in doing it. I should be telling others of my belief in my Lord and why and draw them near to him.

Prayer: Dear Lord I do believe in you, help my unbelief. Draw me closer to you that I may understand all that you desire of me and may I glorify your name.

Scripture: John 10:[10] The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Observation: Most of my life the devil as destroyed and stole my joy, but when Jesus entered my life things changed. He replaced hate with love, anxiety with peace, worthlessness with purpose and gave me a reason to live, life.

Application: To draw nearer to my Lord each day and walk with him. To enjoy this new life and learn how to live it in His name. To avoid the devil, guarding my thoughts and actions, read and study his word for direction.

Prayer: My Lord thank you for loving me so much that you wouldn’t give up on me. Guide me each day and show me how to live my life so it glorifies you. Thank you for my life and how you are changing me each day.

Scripture: John 9:[31] We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly man who does his will.

Observation: I strive to be that godly man who does the will of God. I ask each day to be guided by his will, but too often I don’t listen and go my own way.

Application: I know God hears me, but I need to listen to God and what He desires of me. Each day I need to work on being a godly man and walk close to my Lord.

Prayer: Dear Lord hear my cry. Show me how to live a godly life and honor you. Speak to me and show me your will. You deserve all of my love praise and obedience. I love you and want to please you.

Scripture: John 8:[7] When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.”

Observation: I throw the stone too often yet I have no right. I judge people unfairly, judge church practices and criticize government. even though I am a sinner. It seems I throw stones each day and yet I’m the one who the stones should be thrown at.

Application: I need a softer heart and a more caring nature towards others. I need to think before I act and consider all the God has done for me. I have no right to throw stones.

Prayer: Dear Lord forgive me for anything I do that causes you disappointment. Help me see people through your eyes and make me a more caring and considerate person.

Scripture: John 7:[24] Stop judging by mere appearances, and make a right judgment.”

Observation: I make so many judgments against others just by appearance. I judge how they look, dress and act and draw my own conclusions on who they are. I decide whether people are attractive, intelligent and spiritual just by looking at them.

Application: I need to stop making judgments’ at all and get to know people as a child of God. I need to help others instead of being standoffish and not caring. I need to make right choices and use my heart and not my eyes as I look at others.

Prayer: Dear Lord you saw my heart through all the evil in me and you still loved me. May I have your heart as I look at others and see them as you have created them with love. May I honor you in the way I think and act towards others today.

Scripture: John 6: 28 Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”

Observation: That should be my question each day, “What must I do.” I was created for a purpose and that purpose is to serve God. He has works that he wants done by me and I need to get busy doing them.

Application: I need to avoid the distractions of this life and focus on what God wants me to do. To complete the tasks God has set before me is my goal in this life and to please him is why I was created.

Prayer: Dear Father guide your servant in doing the works you desire of me. May I complete my tasks before I come home to you. Guide me this day to do the works you set before me.
