Boldly and Without Hindrance

Scripture: Acts 28: [31] Boldly and without hindrance he preached the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ.

Observation: Wow to be able to be bold about my faith to others. Why am I so quiet when it comes to sharing my faith? I have no problem sharing my opinion on other issues, but when it comes to the most important thing in my life, Jesus, I only share when I feel it’s safe.

Application: This is why I’m here to share my faith and to help others obtain eternal life. My purpose here isn’t to cook, manage or organize it’s to share with others the love of my Lord. I need to make that my priority and not only if I get an opportunity. Time is short, I won’t be here much longer and there are so many crowns to be earned here on earth and if I don’t get busy doing what God created me to do I will be entering the kingdom of heaven empty handed.

Prayer: Dear Lord I don’t need the crowns I need you. I want you to be proud of your child and help me share your word and that I will be bold when I speak of my Father and how much He loves me to whoever you put in my path.

When Do You Give Up Hope?

Scripture: Acts 27: [20] When neither sun nor stars appeared for many days and the storm continued raging, we finally gave up all hope of being saved.

Observation: Before I was saved I was always giving up hope and thought what was the use for living. When Jesus entered into my life I had hope for the first time and a purpose for living. However I still had my struggles and times when I lost hope. I thought about the times I gave up all hope and it was when I was focused on the situation or myself that it seems there was no hope. I can’t think of a time that I was focused on God and His will that I felt hopeless.

Application: I’m here only because God desires it. I need to put my faith in Jesus and live the life He desires, searching to do His will in this life He has given me. My hope needs to be based in my Lord and in nothing else. When things seem hopeless I need to search the things of God for this place I’m in is only temporary I have an eternity to spend with my God my Hope.

Prayer: Dear Lord increase my faith and fill me with your Holy spirit, that you would guide me in all that I do. You are my hope and reason that I breath. Help me Lord and give me wisdom and strength to finish this race in glory and honor to you.

I’m Appointed As A Servant

Scripture: Acts 26: [16] `Now get up and stand on your feet. I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen of me and what I will show you.

Observation: My Lord has appointed me has his servant and I must know and do what my master requests. As Paul I also has a similar task to tell others what I have seen of Jesus. Even though I have not physically seen Jesus I know so much of His character and each day I learn a little more.

Application: I need to share my testimony on how God has saved me from my life of depression and explain to others what I know of His love. I have a loving master and it should be my pleasure to serve Him each and every day.

Prayer: My Lord command your servant to do your will. Speak to me clearly and guide me that I would be pleasing in your sight. Lord give me the strength and courage to tell others about you magnificent love.

How Will We Testify About Jesus?

Scripture: Acts 25: [19] Instead, they had some points of dispute with him about their own religion and about a dead man named Jesus who Paul claimed was alive.

Observation: I wander what people think about Jesus after talking to me. Do I even mention Him or my faith when the opportunity comes up? When I do speak about my Lord are people confused or get a totally different understanding about Him. Am I wishy-washy about my believe and faith in God or am I confident and sure when I speak of my Lord and Savior.

Application: I need to take every opportunity to talk to others about my Lord and Savior. I need to speak boldly about Jesus and explain what they need to do to have eternal life. God has commissioned me to do just that to spread the truth to this world so others may also have the same hope that I have in Jesus.

Prayer: Dear Lord give me the opportunities to share my faith with others. Help me be clear in what I say and give me the wisdom to talk to others about your love and desires for them. Fill me with the Holy Spirit and guide your servant each day to help in the harvest of this world.

What Scares You?

Scripture: Acts 24: [25] As Paul discoursed on righteousness, self-control and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid and said, “That’s enough for now! You may leave. When I find it convenient, I will send for you.”

Observation: When we know we did something wrong and that we might get punished for it that makes us scared. Even if you’re speeding and you see the flashing blue light behind you, it can make your heart jump into your throat. People don’t want to hear anything bad and they don’t want to be corrected. So when you come up to somebody and tell them the scariest news ever that they maybe going to hell, they’ll change the subject. We don’t want to be uncomfortable, but the truth about Jesus must be heard. God didn’t want anyone to perish, but have eternal life and He wants to use us to spread that word.

Application: I have only one job to preach the word of God and to make people uncomfortable in their sin. I’m here as a light to shine the way to Jesus and eternal life. I’m not here to point out anyone’s shortcomings or sin, but to let them know that they will be judged, as I will for what we do with this life here. I’m responsible for my part, to tell others, whether they accept it or not is up to them.

Prayer: Dear Lord give me the wisdom and courage to speak out to others whether it is comfortable for them or me. May I be a light in this world to shine to others so they may see your love.

Take Courage and Obey the Lord

Scripture: Acts 23:11 The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said, “Take courage! As you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.”

Observation: The Lord is always standing by us, comforting and strengthening us to do His will. Whatever we do in His name, we are not doing alone. Our purpose is to obey God’s will and His will is that we will share the good news and testify of His love to others. God wants none to perish and we have a responsibility to tell others of how they may obtain salvation and have eternal life with our Father.

Application: I need to be focused on my Lord and not this world. My mind is constantly going and worrying about things that don’t matter and not giving enough thought to those things that do. I need to take courage and stop being so afraid in this world and point others ahead to our eternal life with Him.

Prayer: My Lord please give me the courage I’ll need to be the servant you desire me to be. I humbly come before you asking for my orders to do your will. Please make clear what you desire of me and guide me so that I will honor you each day of the life you have given me.

What Shall I Do Lord?

Scripture: Acts 22:10 ” `What shall I do, Lord?’ I asked.
” `Get up,’ the Lord said, `and go into Damascus. There you will be told all that you have been assigned to do.’

Observation: I ask God each morning in prayer to guide me in what He desires of me, but most of the time I don’t hear Him. Is God not speaking to me or am I not listening. Maybe I’m only doing the things I desire and pretend not to hear Him when He gives me directions I don’t want to hear. I’ve done that before with people I’ll ask them what they want and if it doesn’t fit into what I want I ignore them.

Application: When I ask God for direction I need to be quiet and patient, then listen for His response. I’m only here because God desires me to be here and He has a purpose. Yesterday I watch Junior Seau’s memorial service and wondered why God allowed him to take his life, yet stopped me on several occasions. God doesn’t just randomly do things without reason and I must still be here to serve Him in some special way.

Prayer: Dear Lord what is it you desire of me. Help me hear you and follow your directions, that I may complete the tasks you set before me. May I complete this journey in glory and honor to you so when I do get to go home you will receive me with open arms.
