May I Proclaim the Son of God

Scripture: Mark 15:[39] And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, heard his cry and saw how he died, he said, “Surely this man was the Son of God!”

Observation: I wonder how much Jesus has to do before I say to others this is the Son of God. Jesus did so many miracles when He was on the earth and his disciples saw this yet they followed him for a long time before Peter said He was the son of God and even this centurion must of known of the things Jesus did, yet He had to see Him die before He proclaimed it. Jesus has done many miracles in my life and I know in my heart He is the Son of God, but it took a long time before I proclaimed did.

Application: Now that I know the truth about Jesus I need to tell others. I need to share the testimony I have of God’s love for me, like I did yesterday with the Junior High Ministry. What an honor it was to have the Holy Spirit speak through me and tell these young adults about the Son of God and what He did for me.

Prayer: Dear Lord I ask for wisdom and courage to proclaim your name to others. Continue to open doors for me to share the things you’ve done in my life. Lord I’m your vessel fill me up to overflowing so that your love will splash on those you surround me with.

How Many Times Have I Disowned Jesus?

Scripture: Mark 14:30 “I tell you the truth,” Jesus answered, “today–yes, tonight–before the rooster crows twice you yourself will disown me three times.”

Observation: I don’t have to say the words, but my actions at times says I don’t know Him. I start my day out praying, but it doesn’t take long before I say something or judge someone in a way that seems as if I don’t know my Lord. Jesus commands that I walk alongside Him and live a life honoring Him and when I don’t I deny Him as my Lord since I disobey Him. I don’t have to say I don’t know Him, but I can act in a way that says the same thing to others.

Application: I’m called to be a light in this world and act as close as I can to Jesus so others may see Him through me. I’m going to speak to a junior high class today at church and share my testimony. This will give me the opportunity to share His love with others. May I represent my Lord and honor Him.

Prayer: Dear Lord. I’m sorry and I ask your forgiveness. Help me speak out boldly of your love and grace and never to deny you again. I need you to be with me and help me through this life and show me how to shine for your glory.

Wake Me Up Lord

Scripture: Mark 13 [36] If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping.:

Observation: If Jesus came now I would be asleep. I get up each morning and pray and I want to make a difference, but I fall in the same rot, go to work, eat dinner, watch television and go to bed. Lately I’ve been so tired that we haven’t gone to our Wednesday night Bible study and if we don’t serve at church on Saturday I don’t go. I wonder if when He comes He finds me sleeping if He would even wake me up.

Application: I need to get busy. God has given me the testimony on depression and has allowed me to write a book and guided me through a class I can give to draw others nearer to Him. I need to get more involved in the church and make an effort to go out and find ways to serve. I need to take the no doze of serving others in His precious name.

Prayer: Dear Lord my spirit is willing but my flesh is weak. Strengthen me and guide me in fulfilling the purpose you have created me for and wake me up. May I be busy when you return and then keep me busy for all eternity.

The Most Important Thing!

Scripture: Matthew 12: [30] Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’

Observation: I know that is the most important commandment, but yet I don’t live my life that way. I put myself before anything else and not God, but if I loved Him the way I should He would be first. In all my heart, there shouldn’t be anyone I love more than God, all my mind, God should be in my thoughts at all time no matter what I’m doing and with all my strength is all that I do I should be doing it for the Lord.

Application: Make God my number one priority in all things, everyday. I should fall in love with Him each morning and continue until I fall asleep and do it all over again. Before I do or say anything I should know if it will honor God. My love needs to be so great that others see it in my life and if they were asked they will tell others of my love for my Lord.

Prayer: Dear Father I do love you, but not enough. Help me take the focus off of me and the things that I see to be problems and be totally dedicated to you.

Why Is Believing So Hard?

Scripture: Mark 11: [24] Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Observation: I definitely have asked for a lot in prayer, but how much I believed God would grant is something else. I pray out of repetition sometimes forgetting what I’m saying. There is no reason for me not to believe if I ask God with a sincere heart, knowing His will for my life. God has answered so many prayers because of His grace and He asks me to trust and believe in Him and to share that belief with others.

Application: When I go before God in prayer realize that I have the privilege to talk to the creator of all things and there is nothing He can’t do. When I make a request of my Lord that it is with a pure heart and focused mind and when I know my request honors God belief that my prayer has already been answered and will come to fruition in God’s timing not mine.

Prayer: My lord I come before you humbly, but with confidence that you hear my requests. I know that you love me, even though I don’t understand why. I also know you want the best for me and my request this day is for you to guide this life and take charge and use it for your glory. Thank you Dad.

I’m Richer Then I Realize

Scripture: Mark 10:21 Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

Observation: I get overwhelmed at times with bills and earthly desires without realizing how rich I am. God has blessed me so much, He has given me a home, met all my needs, I have a wonderful wife, health and so much I don’t deserve. More importantly I have eternal life with my Lord and His word to guide me. My treasures is my testimony, love God has given me, along with the finances I’m blessed with, which should be given away.

Application: Be focused on what I have been given and find a way to give it away. Everything I have belongs to God and I want to be a good steward and take my talents that they may be multiplied to my master. Find opportunities to bless instead of ignoring the possibilities God puts in my path.

Prayer: My Lord I thank you for all you have blessed me with even the trials. May everything be used for your glory and not my comfort, that I will be a good steward and when I come home I may hear the words I long for, “Well done good and faithful servant.”

Help Me Overcome My Unbelief

Scripture: Mark 9:24 Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”

Observation: A day doesn’t go by that my actions don’t proclaim this scripture. Each morning I wake and pray and tell my God how much I love and trust Him. Then as the day goes by I fall into fear and anxiety and my faith weakens as I focus on my life in this world and not my life with God.

Application: I need to focus on my God and not my problems. Remember all the times God has been faithful to me and has gotten me this far. Keep in my heart all the blessings He has given me and feel the love He has for me. Be aware of how I’m feeling at all times and cry out for help when I depend on my strength and not His to get me through.

Prayer: Dear Lord I do love and trust you. Help me overcome my unbelief in those moments when my heart strays from you. Keep me close and aware of your presence.
