Scripture Psalms 46:1 To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. A song for Alamoth. God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.

Observation: I don’t know why I continue to try to live this life without God’s help. I’m so arrogant that I think I have the strength to live without my Lord at times, but the truth is that apart from God I can’t do anything. I find my heart in agony and my mind wrought with confusion and anger over the simplest of things. A day doesn’t go by that my mind and heart are in trouble and it doesn’t seize until I open my eyes to my Lord. He is always there for me and all I have to do is call out His name and ask for guidance.

Application: I need to always give my life to the Lord and realize there is nothing good I can do without Him. I need to humble myself before His throne and ask for the wisdom and strength I will need Him each day and not go my on my own. I want Him to rule my life from the time I get up to the time I fall asleep. I need my Lord to take full control of this life.

Prayer: My Lord I know I can’t live this life without you. Take charge and command your servant on what to do. This life is for You and not me so please use it to glorify your name and guide me through the rest of it so it honors You. I love You Lord may my actions prove that.

Scripture Psalms 45:17 I will make Your name to be remembered in all generations; Therefore the people shall praise You forever and ever.

Observation: This is our job to live our life in a way that others will praise God and that our children and grandchildren will tell others about our loving and caring God. We are to go out and make disciples and the way to do it is to tell others what God has done for us and to explain the gospel so that others will thirst for more of God’s love. When we understand God’s nature and what He has done for us we can share that with others. We should become contagious so that our love spreads to others and that God will be praised forever. If every Christian would do their part God’s word would know no bounds.

Application: To tell of my Lord and all that He had done for me and wants to do for them. I need to stop selling others on myself and humble myself and tell them about the wonders of my God. That is why we are all here to be a witness of what God desires for us. We are here to praise God and that is my desire, but I need to make that the priority in my life and not an afterthought. My goals need to change and doing God’s will needs to be first in my life and others need to see that in me. That my mission is to praise God and to bring others to His loving grace.

Prayer: My Lord you are worthy of all of my love, worship, praise and time, yet I give you so little. Fill me with the Holy Spirit and guide me through the rest of this life that I will live in a way that others may see you and praise you. I love you Lord help me live that kind of life.

Scripture Psalms 44:3 For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, Nor did their own arm save them; But it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, Because You favored them.

Observation: I think I can accomplish so much by using the skills I acquired, but the truth is that I have nothing that God hasn’t given me. Any good thing I do is only because God has allowed me to do. Any skill or gift I have is from God along with the opportunities that come my way. This whole life is choices if I follow God I will reap a reward no matter how difficult it might be and if I venture out on my own I will also reap what I sow. The more I do in God’s will and to glorify Him the more I will succeed in what God has called me to do

Application: I need to realize each day that whatever happens God has allowed and has given me what I need to do His will. There is nothing good within me apart from God so I need Him with me at all time guiding and directing my course. The more I realize I depend solely on my Lord the closer I will get to knowing His will for my life, because in life that is all that matters everything else becomes a distraction if it is not honoring to my Master.

Prayer: My Lord help me realize that you control this life if I give it back to you. I don’t want to move an inch unless it is ordained by you. Guide me through this life and show me what you desire me to do. I’m here to serve and fulfill the purpose you have created this servant for. I love you my Lord and Master.

Scripture Psalms 43:3 Oh, send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead me; Let them bring me to Your holy hill And to Your tabernacle.

Observation: God sends His light and truth through His word. I need to know His word better each day and follow what is written in it. God has a plan for my life since the beginning and desires me to fulfill that plan before I come home. God is always sending His light out, but so often we don’t see it because we are so distracted from the things of this world.

Application: I need God to open my eyes to His truth and show me what He desires of me. I need to find a way to be quiet and still before Him so that I may hear and that He would be able to guide me. I need to stop being so distracted and focus on God’s truth and will for my life.

Prayer: My Lord help me see your light and understand your truth. Help me live a better life, a life that honors and glorifies your name. Give me the energy and strength that I will need to fulfill my purpose in this life. I want you to be proud of me, I love you so much.

Scripture Psalms 42:1 To the Chief Musician. A Contemplation of the sons of Korah. As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God.

Observation: That is my desire to want God so desperately that it is the source of my life, which He is. God too often becomes an afterthought during the day instead of the main purpose of my existence. I should live my life as if I don’t seek God that my body and soul aches as if I didn’t have any water. God sustains me and the more I have of my Lord the healthier and stronger I become.

Application: I need to have God on my heart all day long whether good or bad He needs to be my focus and desire each and every day. I need to live in a way that without I would perish, which is what I would do. My dependence and future lie in His hands not mine and that should be the way I think always. I should never leave His side and when I do I need to run back to stay close to Him. My life only exists because of Him I need to be close to my source of power.

Prayer: My Lord, my life You know my heart and my desire to honor You. You also know how many times I fail each day. Draw me near to you that you are all I feel and hear during each day. You are my source of life, may I live in power and strength in your presence. I love you and want to finish well speak to your servant.

Scripture Psalms 41:2 The LORD will preserve him and keep him alive, And he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies.

Observation: So many of us expect God’s blessing no matter what we do. We may feel He owes us because of something we have done, but God owes us nothing except the penalty of our sins, which Jesus took care of. The passage before this was if someone took care of the poor. All of God’s promises of what He will do start with what we need to be doing. If we are not doing God’s, will we can’t expect God to bless that. God owes us nothing however we owe Him everything, yet He wants to bless us. He wants us to be obedient to His commands which are more than reasonable. I want God’s blessing more than anything but if I’m not willing to do my part, I won’t receive anything.

Application: I need to be following God’s law and not just to get blessings, but to honor God. If I get nothing more the rest of my life so be it, I deserve nothing. I want to be obedient I want God’s promises and I want to be seen worthy before my heavenly Father. Today is Father’s Day and I should be the one blessing my perfect Father and I need to be doing that each and every day.

Prayer: My dear Father, I thank you for all of the blessings you have given me. May I celebrate each day the fact that you are my Father and that I would be an obedient child. I’m not worthy of all that you give me, but I want to thank you for giving each blessing to me. I need your help to be that child you desire me to be. I love you Dad and I look forward to being with you. May my homecoming please you, because I fulfilled the purpose you have created me for.

Scripture Psalms 40:3 He has put a new song in my mouth– Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the LORD.

Observation: God has blessed my life in so many ways, but do I reflect that to others? At times I get down and depressed and the things I tell others are not always uplifting. I have hatred for some and I fail to hide those feelings which I shouldn’t have in the first place. My only real job here is to bring others to Christ and spread the gospel. How can I do that if I don’t show Jesus’ love and compassion to others. If I say I believe in Jesus, but don’t live the way He calls me to live that makes me a hypocrite and who would believe a hypocrite?

Application: I’m called as a Christian to be like Christ. I know what being like Jesus is, it’s all over the Bible. However it’s not easy since we still live with our sinful nature, but with Christ all things are possible. I need to let the Holy Spirit control my life and I need to have Jesus on my heart at all times. Before I do anything I need to ask the question, “What Would Jesus Do?” I need to have my heart full of the love of Jesus before I even do anything. My words to my wife must be honoring to my Lord and to everyone else. My focus needs to be on my final goal Heaven and how God wants me to walk through the journey of getting there.

Prayer: My Lord show me how to be like you. Help me walk through this Earth with a glow on my face that reflects your glory. May I live that it is obvious to others that I follow you. Take this hatred and anxiety from my spirit and speak to your servant that I would obey every command you give me. I’m yours for now and always. I love you my Master and what to be your bondservant forever.
