How Can I Not Be Content?
Scripture: 1Timothy 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
Observation: I try to be godly and honor God even though I fall short, but I never try to be content. It seems I always want more, but the time that I’m discontent is time wasted. God has given me everything I need and to focus on having more is worthless and unproductive. When I’m not content people around me can see that and what does that say about my Christianity? To be full of joy, content and loving is what I need to project to those who don’t know Jesus, who are searching for what is missing in their life.
Application: There is no reason for me not to be content. God has blessed me with all of my needs, a wonderful woman as my wife and the time to serve Him and to make a difference while I’m still here. Discontent is a distraction from Satan and I need to fight against it to focus all of my might in serving God and others until it is time to go home.
Prayer: Lord forgive me for my arrogance and selfishness. I’m very thankful for this life you have given me and how you provided for me all of my life. Use the gifts you have given me to help others discover your love, mercy and salvation.
