Scripture Malachi 3:7 Yet from the days of your fathers
You have gone away from My ordinances
And have not kept them.
Return to Me, and I will return to you,”
Says the LORD of hosts.
“But you said,
‘In what way shall we return?’

Observation: We have strayed from God. Most of us are so involved with the world around us that we don’t trust God’s judgement. We are so focused on the evil we lose sight of our heavenly Father. We need to return to God in prayer and loving Him the way He calls us to love Him with all out heart, mind and soul and then He will return to us.

Application: When I’m walking I need to focus on God more than the things that surround me that is not of God. Keep in prayer reaching out to His children and be there when He calls. My walk should draw me closer to God and as I walk to closer to Him He is walking closer to me.

Prayer My Lord, You have blessed me so much and yet there are times my mind wanders to things that don’t concern me. Help me stay focused on the things of You and help me fulfill the purpose You have created me for.

Scripture Malachi 2:17 You have wearied the LORD with your words;
Yet you say,
“In what way have we wearied Him?”
In that you say,
“Everyone who does evil
Is good in the sight of the LORD,
And He delights in them,”
Or, “Where is the God of justice?”

Observation: We hear so many things these days, people trying to justify their action by saying it’s of God. I’ve never seen so much evil before in my life and now evil is called good. Even some pastors and priests have joined in saying abortion and homosexuality is good in the eyes of the Lord. Our only hope is that Jesus comes soon and takes us out of here.

Application: I need to always decern what I hear and see. I need to stay in the word so there is little chance of me being misled with the evil around me. I need to know and preach the truth according to God’s word to others and if needed suffer through the trials of standing up for my beliefs.

Prayer My Lord I know we weary you with all of the evil we do. I’m anxious to see You coming for us and to end the evil that has been done against you and your children. I wish it was today, but it’s not my will but yours. I love you and can’t wait to be with you.

Scripture Malachi 1:6 “A son honors his father,
And a servant his master.
If then I am the Father,
Where is My honor?
And if I am a Master,
Where is My reverence?
Says the LORD of hosts
To you priests who despise My name.
Yet you say, ‘In what way have we despised Your name?’

Observation: Most of us take God for granted and instead of giving Him our first fruits we offer the scraps of our lives. God is our Father and Master and deserves all that we have and all that we have comes from God. We are called to magnify the Lord and we have our life on this earth to honor him. Others needs to see our love for God.

Application: I need to wake up every morning thanking God for allowing me to be here. Then ask what He would desire me to do for today. My sacrifice to him should be this life and it needs to be holy and pleasing to Him.

Prayer My Lord, I freely give you this life. Use it as You will and at the end of each day may I please You by what I did. I so desperately want to hear the words, well done good and faithful servant.

Scripture Zechariah 14:20 In that day “HOLINESS TO THE LORD” shall be engraved on the bells of the horses. The pots in the LORD’s house shall be like the bowls before the altar.

Observation: Holiness to the Lord should be engraved on our heart as Christians. God is holy in our lives and should be set apart above everything in our lives. We should love nothing or nobody more than Him and our lives should show that. We should live in awe of our creator and worship Him each day.

Application: I need to stop taking God for granted and realize who He is. He is the Holy one and nothing should be more important than glorifying Him each day. God is the reason that I exist and without Him nothing would be here.

Prayer My Lord You are Holy and deserving of all I am. As I pray to You remind me that I’m Your creation and that I am here according to your will and not mine.

Scripture Zechariah 13:9 I will bring the one-third through the fire,
Will refine them as silver is refined,
And test them as gold is tested.
They will call on My name,
And I will answer them.
I will say, ‘This is My people’;
And each one will say, ‘The LORD is my God.’”

Observation: This life is full of trouble and each trial is a test. How we do in these tests can make us stronger and closer to God or cause us to have self-pity and draw away from Him. These tests are necessary to build our character and to show God our love for Him. We are never alone with our trials God is always there for us and when we call on His name, He will answer us because we are His people.

Application: I need to stand strong in any trial I might face, knowing God is with me and He is building me up while testing me. I need to pass the test and continually grow closer to my Lord. Always be prepared to encounter testing as I walk through this life.

Prayer My Lord, I know you will never leave me or forsake me. Make me into the man that will please and glorify Your name. I know I can’t do this along so please strengthen your servant for any task You put before me.

Scripture Zechariah 12:10 “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.

Observation: There are over 300 prophesies about Jesus and this is one of them. When the soldier had to determine of Jesus was dead on the cross, He was pierced with a spear. He died for all of us that would believe in Him and suffered more than anyone could imagine. God requires faith to believe but He also leaves us so much evidence that Jesus is the Son of God.

Application: I need to spread that gospel that Jesus is the son of God and only through Him will we receive salvation. Tell others about an unbelievable love that saved each one of us. Fulfill my commission to spread the gospel of my Lord.

Prayer My Lord thank you for a love that I can’t possibly understand the depth, but saved a sinner like me. Use me as You desire to fulfill the purpose You have created me for. I love you so much can’t wait to tell You that in person.

Scripture Zechariah 11:17 “Woe to the worthless shepherd,
Who leaves the flock!
A sword shall be against his arm
And against his right eye;
His arm shall completely wither,
And his right eye shall be totally blinded.”

Observation: We have plenty of worthless shepherds as leaders today. They take bribes and hurt the people they are supposed to be helping. The day will come when they will reap what they have sowed.

Application: I need to be focused on God and His calling on my life and not worry about things that I can’t change. God has given me a purpose and my duty is to fulfill that purpose to the best of my ability and trust God to complete it as He desires.

Prayer My Lord I’m your bond servant and will do whatever You call me to do. Open my eyes to You and that I will continue to stay in your word and pray for those You put in my path.
