I’m God’s Good Pleasure
Scripture Ephesians 1:5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,
Observation: It’s hard to believe that I was predestined to be God’s child. I look at my past and can’t see anything that I was that was worthy of such an honor. If I was an orphan here on earth I don’t think anyone would want to adopt a child like me. Yet God calls adopting me His good pleasure, which means it pleased Him to do it. He sees something in me that pleases Him and wants me to be my Father and I will be His always.
Application: Knowing that I’m God’s child and that He wants me should motivate me to do more for my Father than ever before. I know He can’t love me more or less, but to please my Father brings me joy and I need to strive to receive as much joy as I can.
Prayer Father fill me with the Holy Spirit as I walk along the strand today. May I learn something new about You on this journey. Place people in my path that I may talk about you to them and that you will enrich both our lives.
