Scripture: Mark 15:39 And when the Centurion who stood there in front of Jesus heard his cry and saw how he died he said, “Surely this man was the Son of God.”

Observation: All over the Bible and in historical records it is clear Jesus is the Son of God, but he has also proven it in my life. He has done miracles, had pity on me, and saved me. I have been born again with a new direction and purpose. So why don’t I treat him with the honor He deserves as the Son of God? I should be obeying him always living a life worthy of the Son of God.

Application: I need to realize who I am to Jesus and start acting the part. A man that Jesus loves so much that He died for me. It’s time to honor my savior and Lord, the Son of God.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, you’ve shown me your love, mercy and grace, may I show you my love and obedience each day.

Scripture: Mark 14:36 Abba, Father, he said, “Everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”

Observation: I used to live my life doing what I wanted and not what God wanted for me. I worry even though He tells me not to and I’m anxious because I don’t trust Him fully. I lack faith and I’m afraid. He gives me opportunities to serve Him but at times my laziness stops me and my desires comes first.

Application: In my heart I know what God’s will is in my life. It takes effort to deny my will and do the Father’s. God’s will needs to be the priority in my life and my purpose for living.

Prayer: Lord in all I do not my will, but yours be done.

Scripture: Mark 13:31 Heaven and Earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

Observation: God’s word is the only sure thing in this world. It has never changed since the beginning and never will. I do find it confusing when it states that heaven will pass away, though we are promised eternal life. I trust in God’s word and realize I will never understand everything.

Application: I need to learn more of God’s word. To find out all the things He expects of me and what I should be doing. I need to complete the purpose God has for me and the only way to understand that purpose is to understand God’s word.

Prayer: Dear Lord place your word in my heart and give me the discipline to be in your Word each day.

Scripture: Mark 12:17 Then Jesus said to them, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s”

Observation: Caesar represents this world and I find myself giving Caesar what is God’s. All my devotion, praise, worship and obedience belongs to God yet I rob him at times and give it to Caesar.

Application: I need to first give God what is his and not give Him my leftovers. My love, affection, obedience and time first belongs to God. Caesar gets what God has called me to give.

Prayer: My Lord may I bring all my first fruits to you including the precious gift you’ve given me, time. May you open my eyes and show me how to distribute the rest.

Scripture: Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Observation: Believe you have received it. When I’m asking in God’s will I need to believe that I received it not knowing exactly when it will come. Once I receive that truth only then will my prayer be answered. All the scriptures that touch my heart have to do with faith and trusting in God.

Application: I need to start doing what God is telling me. To have faith in him and to believe the love He has for me. I need to stop looking at myself knowing I don’t deserve anything and everything He gives me is out of His love for me.

Prayer: I know I don’t deserve your love, mercy and grace, but because of who You are I receive these things. Help me be more worthy and that I draw nearer to you.

Scripture: Mark 10:52 “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

Observation: I wonder sometimes if my faith would ever heal me. I can’t seem to even mustard a mustard seed of faith. I worry so much about small things instead of focusing on God. Yet He has been faithful in taking care of and watching over me. The scripture, faith without works is dead in itself. I have works with little faith.

Application: Anytime I’m anxious, I need to call out to Jesus, knowing that He is with me and that He can heal me.

Prayer: Lord increase my faith knowing this is not my home and all things will come to pass in your time.

Scripture: Mark 9:24 Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief.”

Observation: How true this is of me. I pray and tell my Father how I belief in Him, but when trouble comes all of a sudden fear creeps in. I pray each day and read my Bible and know the truth, but yet I lack belief in what I read. My God has never let me down and at times I feed I go through the trials alone.

Application: I need to stop when I get lost in thought and then pray. I need to know the truth at all times, that my God is with me and will never leave or forsake me.

Prayer: Dear God increase my faith and help me overcome my unbelief.
