The One the Lord Commends

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 10: [18] For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.

Observation: I think about how many times I boast of what I’ve accomplished or what I can do. Yet there is nothing I can do unless the Lord allows me to do it. Any ability and gift I have comes from God. The times I feel the Lord commending me is when I’m doing His work which for me is serving. When I take off my self-righteousness and put on my servant’s robe that is when I’m in the presence of God.

Application: To put myself in situations that honor God. To take the focus off myself and be directed towards God’s plan for my life and to take any opportunity to serve.

Prayer: My God may I live this day to be commended by you.
