Scripture Josh 6:17 Now the city shall be doomed by the LORD to destruction, it and all who are in it. Only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all who are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.

Observation: Rehab knew that the Lord blessed the Israelites and was with them. Because of her belief her life and the lives of her family were spared. She feared the Lord and did what honored Him by hiding His children and in return He remembered her and kept her safe. God never goes back on His word, they could have still killed her with the rest of the town the men were already saved, but He never forgets and rewards those who obey Him.

Application: Each day I need to listen and obey my Lord, not just for the reward, but to show Him I love Him. If you love someone you want to please that person by doing what they desire and that is my desire is to please my Lord. Listen and obey are my instructions knowing no matter what might be happening my Lord is faithful and will always be there

Prayer: My Lord give your servants orders to follow. May I honor you with my obedience and love. Guide me in everything that you want of me and increase my faith that I will never fear anything else.

Scripture Josh 5:14 So He said, “No, but as Commander of the army of the LORD I have now come.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, “What does my Lord say to His servant?”

Observation: I speak to God every day yet it is rare when I hear Him. I believe the reason for that is that I don’t listen. I’m so busy thinking what to say and thinking of things in this world that I rarely listen to my Lord. I’m His servant and yet I don’t hear my master speak to me, so how am I supposed to know what to do? I can’t seem to be still for even a moment and yet it will be in that time I can hear that still small voice whisper to me and guide me. I want to serve my master and yet I don’t wait for His commands.

Application: I need to find a way to be quiet to hear my Lord’s voice. I am His creation, his servant and His child and He deserves all that I have. He is the only one that can guide me and tell me the things I need to know to fulfill my purpose in this life, I can’t do it on my own, I need my Master. I need to spend more time alone with my Lord and then to be still and listen.

Prayer: My Lord and my Master, speak to your servant and command me what to do. Direct me in the ways you want me to go and tell me the things you want me to do to glorify you. I know I don’t have much time left and I want to earn the rewards you have put aside for me. Help me claim what you desire me to have.

Scripture Josh 4:24 that all the peoples of the earth may know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty, that you may fear the LORD your God forever.”

Observation: How are we as Christians telling the world that our Lord God is mighty? It seems like every other religion or group of people is telling the world that they are mighty as we sit idly by. Every Christian should be telling others about our loving and all powerful God. People should be afraid to oppose God by what we tell them. He cares and loves His children, but He is also mighty and at the end will judge those that didn’t come to Him when they could.

Application: My responsibility is to tell others about God and what they need to do to get to know Him. I need to tell them about His love, but also about is power. We need to stand in awe of our God, because we don’t deserve Him, but He is still willing to accept us if we come to Him.

Prayer: My Lord and master. You are all powerful and loving. Soften my heart and direct my mind to tell others about you. Give me wisdom and courage to stand boldly before those who don’t know you and proclaim your might and love for them. I love you Lord and I’m here to serve.

Scripture Josh 3:7 And the LORD said to Joshua, “This day I will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with you.

Observation: Last week I was doing the heaven study at church. I was following the format and something came up and I told of my depression testimony. It was as if I couldn’t stop and the people there didn’t seem to what me to. I would apologize for getting off track, but it really wasn’t and they wanted to hear more. I told of God’s love for me through my experience and how I couldn’t understand why He loved me and didn’t give up on me. Through my crushed spirit as I teared up I was also being exalted in their eyes as one that has endured the tribulation and that all along God was with me..

Application: I need to continue to step out in faith doing whatever honors God. God has blessed me with this testimony to be used to draw others to Him and has given me the courage to speak in front of others. God has given me what I need to fulfill my purpose and I need to be in a position where God can exalt me in front of others so that they may see Jesus through me.

Prayer: My Lord I thank you for not giving up on me and using me to touch the lives of others. I need your strength and courage to continue to do what you call me to do and I ask you to open doors for my ministry to draw others closer to you. I know you are with me and I can do all things through Christ who strengthen me.

Scripture Josh 2:11 And as soon as we heard these things, our hearts melted; neither did there remain any more courage in anyone because of you, for the LORD your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath.

Observation: My God is the true God the God of heaven and earth, there is no God other than my Heavenly Father. Our heart should melt knowing that we serve the one and only true God, the creator of all things. We should constantly be in awe of His awesome power and love, but how often do we take Him for granted? Our heart should melt in the realization that we are loved by such a marvelous and wonderful God as ours.

Application: I need to keep in mind always who I serve and pray to each day. He is not a magician, fairy, tyrant or any such thing, He is the true and living God that all things came to be because of Him. Yet He loves and cares for me, which is beyond my understanding, but I receive it by faith that it is so and that He has shown me this over and over again in my life and He tells me it in His word. It’s time to give Him the love, honor and obedience He deserves each moment of my life.

Prayer: My Lord and my God. I humbly come before you, not that I deserve it, but because you allow me to. Help me tonight as we gather together as family to understand more about heaven and what you have in store for us. May we be blessed knowing that you care and love us and help us glorify your name.

Scripture Josh 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Observation: God’s word is perfect. He tells me how I should act and what I should do in any situation. He tells me about His love for me And the purpose He has created me for. His word should be always on my mind whenever I act, make decisions or say anything to anyone I should meditate on God’s word before doing anything. If I do what God calls me I will always have good success whether in this place or my new home I will honor God. I will always prosper whether it is here or building my treasures in heaven God will guide me with His Word.

Application: I need to stay in His word to know what to do. I need to study and meditate, it’s not good enough just to read without putting all that God commands me into practice. I need to stop before I do anything to make sure it lines up with God’s word. The bible is my instruction manual and I need to follow it completely so my life comes together the way God intended it to.

Prayer: My Lord I thank you for your word and your guidance in my life. Help me be focused when I read it and show me how to use the information you give me to glorify you. Use it to put me on the path of the purpose you have created me for and grant my ways with success.

Scripture Deut 34:10 But since then there has not arisen in Israel a prophet like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face,

Observation: On this earth I most likely will never know the Lord face to face like Moses, but a time is coming when I will leave this earth and go home to be with the Lord. Then I will now Him and worship Him on the new earth. I’ve been doing a study on Heaven and it is so joyful to know I will be with God for all eternity. I will learn about God and His desires and will have no obstacles but be able to serve Him completely. I hope to walk with Him as He did with Adam and Eve in the Garden I want Him to be proud of me and desire to be with me. I will be able to see Him face to face even clearer than Moses.

Application: I need to prepare myself before going home. I need to pack, my good deeds, ripe fruit which I bore and anything that I did that earned me a crown so I have something to present my Lord. I don’t know how long I’ll still be here, but as long as I am I want to run this race in a way that I will get the prize, that each day I earn myself treasures in heaven and that I will live a life in a way that I will hear from the love of my life, well done good and faithful servant.

Prayer: My Lord a day doesn’t go by that I don’t waste most of the time you have blessed me with on things for me. Fill me with the Holy Spirit and show me how to build treasures in heaven that when I get there I have something to lay at your feet. I’m yours and can’t wait to see you face to face, but until that time help me pack for the journey. I love you Lord.
