A Wise Man Will Learn

Scripture Proverbs 1:5 A wise man will hear and increase learning, And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel,

Observation: A wise man will learn and not necessarily teach. I don’t listen very well if someone is speaking to me, I’m already planning what I’m going to say. I think I know so much when in reality I know very little, because I’m not willing to stop and listen to others.

Application: I need to be humble and stop talking and really listen and learn. If I can just keep my mouth shut and my ears opened and hear what is being said, then discern it and learn from it. There is so much more I need to know to be a good Christian and God has surrounded me with people that can teach me what I need to know.

Prayer: My Lord humble your servant before you. Close my mouth and open my ears to hear. Speak to me Lord and teach me the things you desire me to know. I’m you creation, your servant, your child and your student, may I learn from you.

Let Everything Praise Him

Scripture Psalms 150:6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!

Observation: God has created everything and as our Creator He deserves to be praised. If we are not praising Him, it is only because we are not thinking of Him and if we are not thinking of Him the enemy is distracting us. Everything around us is praising His name if we would only stop and observe is majesty and join along.

Application: I need to take my own advice and take the time to stop and walk away from my distractions just to look around and see Him, then stop and praise His Holy Name. He is always there and never leaves us or forsakes us, so several times a day I need to take a moment and praise and thank Him for who He is and how He has blessed me.

Prayer: Dear Lord you are worthy of all of my praise, love worship and time. May I start today doing better giving you what you deserve from me, may I not be able to look around me without seeing you in my surroundings. I love you Lord draw me closer to You.

The Lord Takes Pleasure in Me

Scripture Psalms 149:4 For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation.

Observation: It’s hard to believe that I could please God. I know how Paul felt when he called himself the worst sinner, but there is something about us that pleases God. Maybe he is pleased at times just because we are trying or that we received His son or most likely because we love Him. As ugly as I feel at times He will beautify me for all eternity with salvation, salvation I don’t deserve. How can you not be humble before such an awesome God.

Application: Keep trying to please God. Don’t let an opportunity go by without using it to glorify God. Stop putting my desires before my Lord’s and focus what I can do each day to bring Him pleasure. I’m only here because He desires it, and while I’m here may I pleas Him.

Prayer: My Lord you are worthy of all of my love, obedience, praise and time. May I use all of that to please you each day as I humble myself before you and use all that you have given me to glorify you. I love you Lord, draw me nearer to you.

Praise the Name of the Lord

Scripture Psalms 148:13 Let them praise the name of the LORD, For His name alone is exalted; His glory is above the earth and heaven.

Observation: Why praise the Lord, because He is the only one worthy of our praise. We have no problem at times praising each other, celebrities or situations which do not deserve it. Yet the Lord is worthy of all that we are and His wonders surround us every day and everywhere. Our problem is that we put God on the back burner instead of the throne of our hearts where He belongs. If we would just think of all that God has done for us we cannot help but to praise Him.

Application: I need to make more time just to be with my Lord. I need to have Him in my thoughts throughout the day and glorify Him with all that I do and say. When I get home, I will spend all eternity praising and worshiping Him because I will be able to see more clearly who God is and won’t be able to contain myself from praising Him. It’s time I learn more about my merciful God and draw nearer to Him.

Prayer: My Lord may my life be praise to your holy name. You deserve all that I am, all of my praise, all of my time and all of my love. I love you Lord draw me close to you.

He Heals the Broken Heart

Scripture Psalms 147:3 He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.

Observation: That was me the brokenhearted. All my life I was depressed and down and just didn’t want to be here any longer. It wasn’t until I came to Him that he was the one who healed me, He is the one who always comforts me and He bound up my wound of depression.

Application: I’m here to share the testimony of the One who heals the brokenhearted and there is so many. My job as all Christians is to bring the sick to Jesus and let Him heal them. I’m called to be a messenger and bring the good news of love to those that are hurting.

Prayer: My Lord, I thank you for reaching down to me and healing your servant. As a servant I have a job to do please guide me and direct me on the path of fulfilling the purpose you have given me. I love you Lord grant my way with success.

The Lord Loves the Righteous

Scripture Psalms 146:8 The LORD opens the eyes of the blind; The LORD raises those who are bowed down; The LORD loves the righteous.

Observation: Our Lord can do anything, straighten out any bad situation, heal us of any disease, He raises us up when we are down and recognizes when we are being humble and obedient and most of all He loves us. He loves us all the time and He will guide us when we are trying to do the right thing by honoring Him. He is always there and never gives up on us.

Application: I’ve been feeling down for some time now. The enemy is pushing my buttons and I’m dancing to his tune. Instead of turning to my Lord I’ve been trying to take this on myself, with no success. God is right there stretching out His hand to help and I need to stop turning around, but grab on with all of my might and beg for His protection and guidance. This is not a fight I can win on my own it will take God fighting for me to triumph.

Prayer: My Lord I’m nothing without you and I need you so desperately to pull me out of this pit I have fallen into. Draw me close to You and protect me against this enemy I have no power over. Please fight for your servant and command me on what you desire me to do.

Praise the Lord

Scripture Psalms 145:21 My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD, And all flesh shall bless His holy name Forever and ever.

Observation: When I speak, I should be praising the Lord. So, when I’m talking to someone I need to speak in love with honesty and compassion by doing this I’m praising the Lord. I need to use the words that would please God I need to show love as He shows me love, I need to have compassion as He has compassion on me. Whenever I open my mouth it should praise the Lord and others should see that I love God and that my actions will be honoring to Him.

Application: I need to think of what I’m about to say and say it with praise to God. No evil should ever come out of my mouth, no hateful words and I should never put anyone down or make them feel bad in anyway. May the man I become praise God.

Prayer: My Lord I know this is not the man I would be apart from you so fill me with the Holy Spirit guide my mouth that I will praise you always and forever.
