Scripture Romans 13:9 For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Observation: The only commandment greater than to love your neighbor is to the love the Lord your God with all of your heart, mind and soul. If we can do that, we would never break the other commandments. Can you imagine a world where everyone loves their neighbor as yourself? In this world it seems take care of yourself and don’t worry about anyone else. We won’t see this command fully obeyed until we get to heaven, but each one can try to love their neighbor to honor God while we are here.

Application: I need to stop thinking of myself all of the time and be more concerned about others. God has given me gifts that only are useful if I give them to others. God has taken care of me and I want for nothing and in honor of Him I need to reach out to others in His name.

Prayer My Lord thank you for taking care of your child. Put others in my path that need what You have given me and that I will be loving and generous to them. I do love You with all my heart, mind and soul may I be better at the second most important commandment you have given me.

Scripture Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

Observation: I say this verse every day that I would freely give God my body as a living sacrifice and hope that it pleases Him. God deserves everything that I have and am. I want Him to rule my life and I don’t want to go astray, but please him each day. I know I can’t do it on my own so I ask the Holy Spirit to take charge and show me what to do.

Application: I need to continue to do this each day and if there is any time I fail and go back to my own ways that the Hoy Spirit would speak to me and put me back on the path. This life was always God’s, but He lets me decide what to do with it. I want God to use this life and I need to stay in close contact with Him for directions.

Prayer My Lord I do offer this life as a sacrifice to You please accept it and use it to glorify You. You know my heart there is nothing I can hide from you and there is no way to flatter you so may I always be sincere and genuine in your presents.

Scripture Romans 11:22 Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.

Observation: My goodness comes from God and apart from Him there is no goodness. Walking on the Strand at times I find it difficult to be humble because of all the people saying hi and calling my name. That is only happening because of the goodness of God and as I continue to do good things I know that it’s from God. Our goodness is a gift from God.

Application: I need to keep humble and realize what is happening is only because of the goodness of God. My joy comes when others see me as the representative of God and can see my light and love for my Father. I need to stay focused on why God has given me the privilege to do this ministry.

Prayer My Lord, I thank you for giving me this opportunity to pray with your children. Use me for your goodness that your will be done through your servant.

Scripture Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Observation: I’m not a fan of people raising their hands in church and thinking they are saved. The commitment is to believe in your heart and to confess that Jesus is Lord. I would think that to truly believe in your heart would take a more conscience decision, prayer and thought. The most important commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul this is the commitment that God is looking for,

Application: I know I’ve made this commitment, but I need to grow my relationship with God every day. He is looking for a relationship with His children and I need to honor him with my mind, heart and soul each day and to confess to others that He is the Lord of my life.

Prayer My God You are the most important thing in my life and I freely give you this life for you to use as you desire. May I grow closer to you today and understand the things you desire of me and that I would please you.

Scripture Romans 9:15 For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion.”

Observation: People still say if there was a God this or that would not have happened or that He would not allow bad things. We have no right to question God, because He is the creator of all things including us. He has a plan for us and we need to be in His will and because we are in His will does not mean things will be easy. We need to trust and be obedient glorifying our God.

Application: I’m no better than most, but I am getting better. I wonder at times why things are the way they are, but then I read God’s word and He told us ahead of time that this was going to happen, even though He didn’t have to. He is God and deserves our praise, worship, fear and love. We should be in awe that He wanted to create us and we should be willing to obey His commands.

Prayer My Lord you have created all things and you tell us you love us. You are worthy of all our praise, worship, love and time. Help me today to be obedient of your will.

Scripture Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Observation: I see that in my life how everything that has happened to me eventually worked for good. I can honestly say that I love God and love Him more each day as I get to know Him better. As I look back, I can see how God has used me and how He called me to His purpose.

Application: I get to go out again today to walk the strand and pray. Yesterday was an extraordinary day as I was allowed to pray for so many. God has allowed me to go through the trials so I would be ready to fulfill the purpose he had for me all along.

Prayer My Father I thank you that I’m called to this ministry and I want to please You each day. Be with me as You always are and walk with me to talk to your children and grant my ways with success. I do love You Lord continue as I grow closer to You

Scripture Romans 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find

Observation: I realize that there is nothing in my flesh that is good. All of my life without Jesus was sin, all I thought about was myself. I hurt people, sinned against God and lived a life in sin. When Jesus took up residency in my body and mind, He was the one that used me for good, without Him I would still be that wretched man I was most of my life.

Application: I need to allow the Holy Spirit to take over and use me to do good and help others. I need to die to self and be that new creation God is calling me to be. I need to stay in close communication so that I can get my instructions each day form the Holy Spirit and stay on the path that God has chosen for me.

Prayer Thank you Jesus for changing this sinner. Continue to work in me that I may do the things You desire of me and draw me close. I still sin each day in my thoughts help continue to grow me to be the man You desire me to be.
