He Will Not Forsake Us

Scripture Isaiah 42:16: I will bring the blind by a way they did not know;
I will lead them in paths they have not known.
I will make darkness light before them,
And crooked places straight.
These things I will do for them,
And not forsake them.

Observation: Every morning, I say this verse during my prayer. I find great comfort that He is leading me and He’ll always be there. However, my job is to keep my eyes on the path that He is making for me. No matter what distractions come before me I need to keep my focus on my Lord and be confident no matter what I’m dealing with or what I am doing and that He is right there by my side.

Application: I need to filter out the thoughts that don’t honor my God. My mind races so much during the course of the day it doesn’t take me long to forget about the path my Lord is making for me. I know He will never forsake me, but I can’t forsake Him either. I’m His servant, creation and child, I need to stick close to my Father.

Prayer Dear Lord, I thank you for making me, me. It took me a long time to be able to say that, but I see the purpose You have created in me and I know you’ll be there until it’s complete. Thanks for always being there for me, I couldn’t make it through this life any other way.

Fear Not God is with Us

Scripture Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

Observation: Just finished a post about how helpless I feel with everything going on. I asked what I could do as an individual to help resolve the problem, because there was nothing I could think of. Maybe this is where God wants us, we ignored Him for so long and He is waiting until we stop fearing man and run to Him. He will strengthen us, help us and uphold us if we would just humble ourselves before Him and beg for His forgiveness.

Application: I need to stop fearing everything I see and the hopeless end I keep predicting in my heart for this Nation. I don’t only need to pray to my Lord, but truly humble myself leaving my fear on the alter and trusting in Him. A day doesn’t go by that I don’t sin and I need to confess those sins and ask for His direction.

Prayer My Lord I’m a sinner and do not deserve to stand before You. I know all of the terrible things that I have done in the past and only because of the blood of Jesus am I allowed to speak to You. As I have given You my burdens in the past, I ask You to take this fear from my Spirit opening my eyes to what You desire of me. I love you Lord and trust You with all that I am.

Wait on the Lord

Scripture Isaiah 40:31: But those who wait on the LORD
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

Observation: Waiting for me is so hard, I’m so impatient. I react on impulse and lead with my emotions, needing things done right away. I haven’t learned that I can’t make it through this life without my Lord. My strength is about gone and it’s hard to go on. Sometimes all I see is a hopeless end, instead of the endless hope that He has promised.

Application: I need to step back and when I feel myself being impatient, I need to stop and pray. I need to get my strength from God and do what He calls me to do. As long as my focus is on Him, I will finish this race and win the prize that He has set for me.

Prayer My Lord I need you so desperately. I feel like giving up and being with you now, but if that was your will it would have already happened. I know there is something You still desire of me, please speak to your servant and give me strength to complete my race in glory and honor to You.

Not My Problem

Scripture Isaiah 39:8 So Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “The word of the LORD which you have spoken is good!” For he said, “At least there will be peace and truth in my days.”

Observation: Isaiah just told the king Hezekiah that Babylon was going to take away all his riches and his children after he dies. His only thought after hearing that grave news was that he won’t have to deal with it. I see that all around me including myself. I’m old and you see all of the evil around us, but I should be able to get out of this without too much trouble. What about our children and grandchildren though, what are we leaving them?

Application: I need to pray more for my country and the leadership. I need to do whatever I can to help ensure that my children and grandchildren will be able to live and prosper. I need to put their needs before my own. My Lord has taken care of my future and I know He can take care of theirs.

Prayer My Lord all I can see around me is trouble and evil. Open my eyes so that I may see your hand in all of this. I ask for protection for this country and that our leaders will lead with biblical principles with You in mind. Please watch over our children and that they will seek You with all of the heart and mind.

He Hears Our Prayers

Scripture Isaiah 38:5 Go and tell Hezekiah, ‘Thus says the LORD, the God of David your father: “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will add to your days fifteen years.

Observation: Throughout the bible prophets hear from God and God tells them He knows what is happening on this earth. Here He tells him that He has heard the prayer of Hezekiah and will answer it. God hears our prayers and He will answer them according to His will and wisdom. He is not ignoring us as we sometimes might think, He is answering in His own way.

Application: When I pray, I need to do it with a sincere heart and not a repetition of what might be going on in my head. I need to come to my Father in awe and humbly bow down to Him knowing He knows what is best. I must thank Him every day for giving me an audience before the King.

Prayer My Lord show me how to pray in a way that will draw me closer to You. You do not exist for my pleasure, but I for yours. Show me how to be more obedient to You and show me how to glorify your name.

O Lord Save Us

Scripture Isaiah 37:20 Now therefore, O LORD our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You are the LORD, You alone.”

Observation: So many things are happening with the Corona Virus. We don’t know who to trust or what information is true or false. We have been confined to our homes and restricted on what we can do. We are forced to wear face masks and have lost our jobs. Our leaders can’t be trusted and our churches are closed.

Application: I need to call out to God every day for His mercy and wisdom. I need to trust in Him only and ask that He would use whatever has been happening for His glory. That through this He will do a marvelous work and all the earth will know that He is our Lord, Him alone.

Prayer My Lord please I ask for peace in my spirit. Help me to trust in you with all of my heart and lean not on my own understanding but in all of my ways that I will acknowledge You and You alone.

Trust in the Lord

Scripture Isaiah 36:15 nor let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, “The LORD will surely deliver us; this city will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.”

Observation: How many times have I heard of negative comments about God not caring or if He cared so and so would not have happened. We are called to trust in the Lord no matter what. Just because we can’t see a result that we want does not mean God isn’t working in our life. This life is temporary and after receiving Jesus as our Lord and savior what we do here will reap rewards in heaven and one of those things will be how we trusted in God, especially when things got tough.

Application: I’m struggling now and I get so focused on the problems at hand I stop trusting in my God. Jesus tells me not to worry and that He has overcome the world. I need to stand on His promises and live my life to glorify Him only.

Prayer My Lord I am yours hold me close so that I may hear your voice and do as You command me. That I will trust You with all my heart and lean not on my understanding.
