Scripture Psalms 64:9 All men shall fear, And shall declare the work of God; For they shall wisely consider His doing.

Observation: Right now, it seems no one acknowledges God and they do whatever they want. Our society is drawing further and further from our Lord. It only seems when something terrible happens that people talk about praying otherwise it appears we live the way we want without consideration of our Lord. A time is coming when this sinful place will realize that there is a God and they will finally open their eyes around them and see is majesty. For so many it will be too late but for others they will repent and claim Him King.

Application: My purpose is to help guide others to His throne. To use all that God has given me to declare that God is our maker and everything we see around us was created by Him. That is why we were created to call out to this fallen world that our creator loves them and wants none to perish, but to have eternal life. We are called to be a light and I need to start shining brighter. I need to take the focus off myself and put all into what God has called me to do.

Prayer: My Lord it is so hard for me lately to stay focused on the mission you have given me. At times I want to give up and come home. I hurt so bad and I’m so tired I need strength and courage to keep going. Put in my heart what you want of me and that you will guide me to get it done. Help me stay focused on you and give me strength. May my love for you be a light for others to see.

Scripture Psalms 63:4 Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.

Observation: When I use my hands it should bless the Lord. He has given me life and that life should be used for His glory. The things I do should bless Him my intention in all that I do should be to please Him. When I go to work today the way I talk and treat others should glorify God and not myself. My life, the way I live it, should be a gift to God. This weekend I get to use my hands to help make food for those in need and if I get praised the praise needs to be directed to my Lord that has given me these hands, gifts, strength and ability to do the things that I can do. May they be lifted up this weekend to my Lord and Master.

Application: Not just this weekend but every day my actions should reflect my God. The way I treat others, the way I spend my time, the things that I accomplish should all be praise to God. I need to lift my hands in praise and I need them to be used to glorify God. All that I can do and all that I am should glorify my Lord.

Prayer: Dear Lord may I bless you with this life you have given me. Please rid me of all my wicked ways and give me guidance in living for you. My desire is to be a good servant and to honor you with all the things that I do. Use my hands and my whole life to bring you honor. I’m a sinner and I desperately seek ways to show you, my love.

Scripture Psalms 62:7 In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God.

Observation: Everything that I need I can find in God. I look to so many things and people to find what I need, but won’t find it, because the one who holds these things are God. He is my strength, my guidance, direction and purpose. He is my salvation and the way home when I’m done here. He holds my life in the palm of His hand and If I let go, He will guide me through the rest of this life the way He desires, which is what I seek.

Application: I need to stop living life with my focus on me and live with God as my purpose. God is my purpose, nothing I do or say matters unless it comes from God. I need to live completely dependent on Him and trust Him with whatever outcome might come my way. He is in complete control, even when I might doubt it. I need to trust Him with all of my heart, mind and strength and give my will completely to His. He needs to run this life and I must obey His commands.

Prayer: My Lord, my Master take control of your servant for you are my everything. I’m your servant and I ask you to direct me to do what pleases You. I don’t want to live this life in my power, but to live in yours. Use this life to glorify your name and not mine. Whatever I do from this point on may it please you. I love you Lord and only want to serve you for the rest of my life.

Scripture Psalms 61:2 From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

Observation: It seems my heart is overwhelmed so much of the time anymore, I’m confused and not sure what I should be doing. Instead of crying out to my Lord I sit and think to myself what to do and become more overwhelmed. My Lord must be standing there with is hand reached out waiting for me to call upon Him for help, but I wallow in self-pity and go further into the pit. All I need to do is cry out to the God who has saved me so many times before, knowing He would rescue me again and again and yet I stay silent. He is my rock and my only hope.

Application: I tell others that I talk to who might be suffering from depression to lean on God, that they need to be the person God has intended them to be and yet I try to live this life on my own. God wants me to call on Him and depend on him. I’m not called to live a life independent from Him but wholly wanting to serve my Lord. I need to give up on trying to make it alone and stay close to my Savior and go where He leads me.

Prayer: Help me Lord I cry out to you take me by the hand and guide me through this life. Use me and all you have blessed me with to do your will. May my thoughts be of you all day long and that I will live a life that glorifies You. Show me what to do for I love you my Lord and what to please you. Take from me this sinful way and make me holy before you.

Scripture Psalms 60:5 That Your beloved may be delivered, Save with Your right hand, and hear me.

Observation: Who is God’s beloved. If you love someone you would be concerned for their desires, you would listen and be concerned on how to please them and you would honor them and make sure they knew that they were loved. God has made it clear that He loves us, but do we love Him in return? We must love God to realize we are His beloved. Love is not supposed to be a one way street, but for so many of us it is. To be God’s beloved we need to love and accept His love. God will save us, but He wants to grow us in His love. To be His beloved we need to love Him back.

Application: I need to show God my love for Him. One way is to be obedient to Him putting Him first before anything. To do what He commands me and to be with Him throughout the day, every day. To acknowledge my Lord before others and introduce others to Him as anyone would introduce their love to others. Show God that I love Him and receive the love He has for me.

Prayer: My Lord, I do love you and want to draw closer to you. I can’t wait to come home and be with you forever. May I be your beloved here for the time being and honor You by the way I live this life.

Scripture Psalms 59:9 I will wait for You, O You his Strength; For God is my defense;

Observation: Why is it so hard to wait. For me it seems almost impossible, I want things and I want them now. Almost all of my bad decisions have been made because I hurried them. I seem to go ahead of God without waiting for a response. Yes I pray and ask for guidance, but before it comes there I go. God can only be my strength and defense if I wait for Him. If I have the greatest army in the world yet I go out to battle before they show up, I’m going to lose and that is what I’ve been doing most of my life.

Application: All through the Bible it tells me you to wait and trust and that is what I need to do. I need patience and when I ask God for direction I need to wait for an answer before trying to go ahead. I’m not here to fulfill my plans for this life, but to fulfill God’s plans for me and how can I do it until I know what they are.

Prayer: Help me Lord, give me the patience to wait on you. Give me a calm spirit and wisdom to wait on you. You are my everything and I need to spend much more time with you to know your heart. Command me each day in what you desire of your servant and give me patience to wait until I hear your commands. I love you and only want what you want for me.

Scripture Psalms 58:11 So that men will say, “Surely there is a reward for the righteous; Surely He is God who judges in the earth.”

Observation: It’s hard to believe God is judging the earth right now with all the evil that is in it. I look around and wonder why God doesn’t just destroy this place with all the sin and perversion that is in it. He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah they couldn’t have been worse than this place. Yet God wants none to perish and He was willing to save Sodom if 10 good men were found. God sees the righteous and we will have a reward when we get home, but it is so hard sometimes to be righteous in this wicked place and if we don’t turn to God for direction, we will never make it to the finish line.

Application: I need to stay focused on God and what He wants of me. I need to realize there is little I can do about the state of this world and the only thing I have control of is me. I need to be righteous in the eyes of God and do the part God has called me to do until it is time for me to go. I need to stay close to my Lord or I’ll never make it He needs to be what I think of all day and not the things that surround me. My rewards come from obeying my God, not anything in this world.

Prayer: My Lord, I’ll never make it to the finish line without you. I need you desperately to direct my path. Put blinders on me that I look at only you and what you have planned for this life. I’m afraid, please take this anxiety from my spirit and give me courage and strength to make it through to the end. I need to finish well help me and others get through. I love and trust you my God.
