The World Led Astray

Scripture: Revelations 12: [9] The great dragon was hurled down–that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

Observation: The world is definitely being led astray. Each day seems we grow further from God and what He desires of us. Sin has become a lifestyle for so many, so many murders each day it’s hard to count, the lie of evolution confuses our children, sexual immorality becomes more perverse and to speak out in God’s name is becoming a crime in this world. There are so many cults to confuse people and lead people astray and the devil has done a good job leading this world astray with his lies.

Application: I will never be able to bring this world back from Satan’s grasp, but I may touch the lives of a person or two and tell them about the promise of God and what He intended for us. Maybe God can use me to lead a couple out of the darkness and into the light of Jesus and who knows maybe that those whose hearts were touched may touch the hearts of a few more.

Prayer: Dear Father you saved me for a purpose and I ask you to make that purpose clear to me so that I may do your will. Show me how to make a difference in this world that has gone astray from your love and word.

When God Takes Back This World

Scripture: Revelations 11:15 The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said:

“The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ,
and he will reign for ever and ever.”

Observation: I look around and see how bad this world has become. We continue to take God out of everything, removing crosses, scriptures and God out of the lives of our children. We defend sin as an alternative lifestyle and this place is worst then Sodom and Gomorrah. I am so anxious for God to reclaim this place and to rule, bringing His love back to the world.

Application: I pray the time is coming quickly when God takes over the rule of this world, but until then He asks me to do things that would help bring his children home to Him. I’m called to use my testimony and knowledge of His word to touch the lives of others in His name. I’m here to help set an example of the love of Jesus and be a light in a very dark place.

Prayer: Dear Lord take this focus off of me and open my eyes to the people You have surrounded me with. Show me how to love like Jesus so others may see that love and draw near to you.

Who Is God?

Scripture: Revelations 10: [6] And he swore by him who lives for ever and ever, who created the heavens and all that is in them, the earth and all that is in it, and the sea and all that is in it, and said, “There will be no more delay!

Observation: I pray to God each morning, I hear people talking about and complaining about God, but do I really ever consider who He really is. He is everything, the creator of all things and if it wasn’t for Him nothing would be. He tells me in his word that He is a loving Father, my master and my friend, but why would God stoop down so low to even know me and yet He tells me He loves me.

Application: I need to stop taking God for granted and realize the magnitude of who He is and humble myself before Him. When I pray realize the privilege that has been bestowed on me that I can have an audience with the eternal creator of everything and that He listens and even wants to spend time with me. I need to treat him with the reverence He deserves.

Prayer: My Lord, my God, my Master I humbly come before you asking want you desire with this servant of yours. Help me show you the true appreciation and love I have for you.

Why Does God Allow Pain?

Scripture: Revelations 9: [4] They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only those people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads.

Observation: In Revelations God doesn’t only allow pain but commands it to those who aren’t sealed, believers, with Him. I know I wouldn’t have turned to God if it wasn’t for the pain I was suffering from depression. Unfortunately God is the last resort for so many, including myself. Nothing else has worked and I couldn’t stand the pain any longer and then I reached out to Him and He reached back. Revelations is the end, the last chance people will have before eternal damnation and God doesn’t want to lose any one, so it’s time for drastic measures so they will give in and reach out to God for their salvation.

Application: God has saved me from pain and has filled my heart with love and compassion. It’s time for me to use these tools to bring others to Him. That they may understand His love for them and that they will reach out and receive this precious gift God is offering them, eternal life with Him.

Prayer: Dear Lord use me to touch others with your message and show them your love through me. May I be a witness of your goodness and that you would use my testimony as an instrument to bring others to you.

Where Do Our Prayers Go?

Scripture: Revelations 8:[4] The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of the saints, went up before God from the angel’s hand.

Observation: I pray every day, but so often my prayers become repetitious and I day dream and forget what I asked God. I forget who I’m talking to, the creator of all and my Master and yet He listens to me. My prayers are brought before Him and He hears and fulfills my requests. I think of all I have asked of him and how many of these prayers were answered and I’m in awe.

Application: My prayers should be filled with thanksgiving also remembering who has granted me an audience and to make my requests honoring and in His will. I’m here for God and not the other way around so I need to honor Him with my prayers as well as my actions and thoughts.

Prayer: Dear Lord I ask to be the man that you want me to be. I need strength, courage and wisdom to fill this request and I ask boldly for them, knowing that you will grant them to me in your timing and according to your will for my life.

Something Great to Look Forward To

Scripture: Revelations 7:17 For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd;
he will lead them to springs of living water.
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

Observation: Image to have every tear wiped away. The pain of depression, uncertainty, poor health, rejection, loneliness, and all the pain this world has to offer. To have my Lord and savior lead me each day to living waters and peace. To have joy I didn’t know existed would be the norm instead of the pain of this world. To feel love instead of hatred for the rest of eternity, that is what is ahead for me.

Application: Knowing what God has in store for me it’s time to share this great treasure with others so they may be able to share the joy with Jesus forever. I’m here for only a little while longer and I need to make a difference while I’m here.

Prayer: Dear Lord I can’t wait to get home with you. Please show me how to run this race until I get there so I may hear the words, “well done good and faithful servant.”

How Long?

Scripture: Revelations 6:[10] They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?”

Observation: I look around me and all the evil that is in this world and I wonder how long God is going to let this go on. I know He doesn’t want anyone to perish but each day seems worst then the last. We continue to take God out of our lives, schools and government. Homosexuality has become an alternative lifestyle, while sexual immorality grows rapidly.

Application: It is not my place to judge others and the condition of the world, but God has given me a job to do. I need to focus on what God desires of me more then what others are doing. I know that God doesn’t what any to perish, but what am I doing about it? I need to be making a difference in the lives of others so that they may receive God’s free gift of salvation.

Prayer: Dear Lord I’m beginning to really hate this place. Show me how to make it better even if it’s for one person. Give me strength and wisdom to do the things that will please you.
