The Joy Of Belief

Scripture: Acts 16:[34] The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God–he and his whole family.

Observation: I remember that is where my joy came from, believing in God and it is still the source of my joy. I changed so much when I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior. The way I act and think, the way I treat others and my priorities are all different now. I want others to experience the joy I found in God.

Application: To allow God to work in my life and tell others of the peace and joy He has brought to me. Tell others of what God wants to do for them and all they need to do is believe and trust in Him.

Prayer: Thank you God for the way you changed my life. Continue to change and open my eyes to your wonders and to tell others about your great love. Show me how to show my love for you.

The Grace of Our Lord

Scripture: Acts 15:[11] No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are.”

Observation: The grace of God is so difficult to accept at times. How can God forgive us for all the things we do against Him and others? Yet He doesn’t just forgive us He blesses us everyday. Yet it is by His grace that we are saved and all we need to do is believe in Him.

Application: Accept God’s grace and tell others of His mercy and love for us. Appreciate each day this wonderful gift of God’s grace and live in gratitude, knowing how much God loves me.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your mercy and grace. For giving me a new heart and new life on this earth and in eternity. Guide me to tell others and bring them closer to you. Thank you Lord.

God Fills My Heart with Joy

Scripture: Acts 14:[17] Yet he has not left himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy.”

Observation: God provides us with everything we need, He cares for His children. My life was miserable without Him, but when I found my Lord He brought joy into my life, a joy I never experienced before. God opened my eyes and softened my heart so I may experience His true love.

Application: Realize everything I have and am comes from God. Thank Him each day and take nothing for granted. Help lead others to God’s grace so they to may experience the joy I now have in God.

Prayer: Dear Father thank you for taking care of me and giving me a love I still can’t fully understand. You deserve my best and full obedience, help me give you this. Thank you for loving me so much you wouldn’t give up on me. I love you Lord.

Appointed for Eternal Life

Scripture: Acts 13: 48 When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and honored the word of the Lord; and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.

Observation: I wonder why God appointed me for eternal life. I was a terrible man before Jesus came into my life as Lord and Savior. Yet I know that He has given me eternal life. As many times as I tried to end this life He wouldn’t allow it, I had an appointment and He wasn’t going to allow me to miss it.

Application: To honor God and to help Him touch the life’s of others by my testimony. To be a witness of my Lord’s love and faithfulness. To thank God each day that I was appointed for eternal life and not take such a wonderful gift for granted.

Prayer: Dear Father thank you for my appointment in your Kingdom. I will never be worthy, but show me each day what you would desire of me and may I please you in all I do. You are so worthy may my love for you show brightly.

Prayer Makes the Difference

Scripture: Acts 12:5 So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.

Observation: Prayer is powerful and I need to treat it as such. Prayer is not just something you do but is the power of God that can change things. Answered prayers is a gift from God, which He should be thanked for and something I need to do to help others in need.

Application: When I pray I need to realize exactly what I’m doing. I’m asking the Almighty God to use His power to change something in my life or in someone else’s. I must earnestly seek Him in reverence knowing I’m speaking to God.

Prayer: Dear Father teach me how to pray to you, that I may hear your voice and be guided by your desires. May I not be robotic in my praying but humbly seek you.

I Want to Be a Good Man

Scripture: Acts 11:[24] He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord.

Observation: For others to see you as a good man, what does it take? What more would it take so others can see you as filled with the Holy Spirit and Faith? That is my desire to live a life where my faith and believe was so apparent to others that they could see Jesus through my life.

Application: To ask God for a continual filling of the Holy Spirit and let Him rule my life. I can’t be a good man without God guiding me and I need His strength to be filled with the Holy Spirit and to have the faith I need to have to accomplish my purpose in this life.

Prayer: Dear Lord guide your servant and show me the desires of your heart for this life. Fill me with the Holy Spirit and take charge. May others see your love lived out in my life. I love you Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit may others see that love today.

A Memorial Offering Before God

Scripture: Acts 10:4 Cornelius stared at him in fear. “What is it, Lord?” he asked.
The angel answered, “Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God.

Observation: How wonderful it would be that my obedience to God could be brought up as a memorial offering to Him. Yet I stop and think what would that offering be? I can think of very little that might be considered and offering pleasing to my Lord. Only a few things come to mind that might be considered worthy of an offering, not enough for an angel to proclaim.

Application: Start living a life that is an offering to God. Produce fruit that is worthy as an offering and that it would please my God. May I serve the poor and others that it could be recognized as an offering.

Prayer: Dear Father you have given me so much and protected me. Show me how to give and not only receive from you. Make my life an offering to you, may it be a pleasant aroma and pleasing in your sight.
