Scripture 1 Corinthians 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

Observation: Love is why I’m here, if God didn’t love me, I wouldn’t exist. The most important commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul and then to love others as yourself. God puts love at the top of the list and we should also. Love is an action and shouldn’t be taken for granted, it’s something we need to work on every day.

Application: Each day I need to look at others through the eyes of God and not mine. I should never judge anyone for any reason, but in love greet them. I need to grow closer to my God and show Him my love by being obedient to His commands and try to understand the love He has for me.

Prayer My Lord thank you for loving me and show me how to love the way that will please you. Use me today to show your love to others and to please you.

Scripture 1 Corinthians 12:3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.

Observation: I realize each day how the Holy Spirit works through me. Each time I pray I know it’s not me, but the Holy Spirit working through me. He has helped me know my Lord better and helps me grow closer to Him each day. None of the good things that I do I could have done without Him and each day I pray that He is with me and that He will show me the way.

Application: Each day I ask the Holy Spirit to guide my life, be aware of how He is working and what He desires of me. I’m a servant and a vessel only and need direction on how to be used each day. I love it when I feel the chill in my body when He is working and need to make sure He gets the glory when good things happen to me.

Prayer It’s another day Lord and I’m ready to be used by you. Guide me on my journey today and speak to those you desire and make me a little more like Jesus than I was yesterday that they may see You in my words and actions.

Scripture 1 Corinthians 11:24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”

Observation: We can take communion anywhere and at any time, it doesn’t have to be when we are in church. We all need a reminder of what Jesus did for us on the cross, a time to humble ourselves and thank Him for not what He has done but what He is doing now in our lives. May communion always be a reminder of God’s love for us.

Application: I should take communion with my wife at least once a week. To set up a special time to remember Jesus’ love for us. He needs to be on my heart daily and I need to remember that this life He has given me is really His.

Prayer Dear Lord thank you for all that You gave up so that I may be able to spend eternity with you. May your sacrifice always be on my heart and that I will you give you the honor you deserve.

Scripture 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Observation: I’m constantly being tempted by the devil and my own weakness. It used to be so hard to resist that temptation and I often gave in, but as I grow stronger in my faith I can see it coming and I turn to God for help right away. Instead of having my mind full of wrong desires I fill it with thoughts of God. If my heart and mind are focused on my Lord there is no room for temptation.

Application: I need to stay focused on God’s will for my life and as soon as I feel that I’m being tempted I need to turn to Him for help. Make sure I’m not in situations and places where I might be tempted. Always be aware of why I’m here, to glorify God.

Prayer My Lord continue to help me each day stay away of evil thoughts and actions and direct me in the way you desire me to go. Keep me focused on You today as I take my life a day at a time.

Scripture 1 Corinthians 9:24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.

Observation: I use to walk my race and it didn’t matter what place I came in as long as I finished. That is not what God wants, He has a prize for us that is worth more than anything we can acquire here on earth, but He wants us to work for it. He is worthy of all of our effort and enthusiasm as we run this race and we should be honored to even be allowed to participate.

Application: My race is coming to the end and only God knows how much longer I have to go. I need to be sprinting to finish this race to win the prize and my focus should be on the finish line. Jesus gave me His all by sacrificing himself for me and He deserves the same from me.

Prayer Dear Lord today is a new day and I need your help to keep running. I need the help of the Holy Spirit as I draw closer to the end of my race help me finish well. You deserve that from me.

Scripture 1 Corinthians 8:6 yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.

Observation: If there is only one God who has created us and all that we see why are we not more fearful of Him? This is our God who has created us and has the power to do anything and yet we are willing to have just a casual relationship if any at all. God has created us for a specific purpose and we are going to need to know him to find out what that purpose is. Our lives should be wrapped around Him each day and live in constant contact to know His will.

Application: I’m living closer to God than I’ve ever have and yet I want more, actually I need more. Each day I want to know Him better and his will for my life, but I still get distracted and my mind wanders. I need to be more aware of my thoughts and actions to help others and glorify God.

Prayer My Lord you are the creator of all things and have my life in the palm of your hand. You are my God and you deserve my complete and undivided attention and obedience. Use me today as you desire and draw me closer to you.

Scripture 1 Corinthians 7:4 The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. 1

Observation: God has called married couples to be one flesh, which is difficult in these days of selfish desires. More people are divorced than remained married and some live separate lives even though they are married. God calls us to be one and to care more about our spouse than we care about our own needs. Our decisions as a married person are to consider the impact of our decision on our marriage and that we should make any major decision together.

Application: I’m so blessed to have Teri as my wife. My desire is to please her and to live this life together. I need to make sure I don’t do anything out of selfish desires but look after her needs and the future of our relationship.

Prayer My Lord thank you for the great blessing of my wife. Help me stay focused on her needs and each day to grow closer as husband and wife. Watch over her today as we walk.
