Scripture Haggai 2:14 Then Haggai answered and said, “‘So is this people, and so is this nation before Me,’ says the LORD, ‘and so is every work of their hands; and what they offer there is unclean.

Observation: What we offer our Lord is considered unclean for the most part, because of the way we offer it. We make offerings under compulsion, guilt, habit or because we feel we’ll get something from it. Our offerings need to be out of love for God and for no other reason. God’s word tells us that He doesn’t want sacrifices but obedience, which is something we need to offer continually throughout the day.

Application: The time I have left I need to offer my Lord works that our honoring to Him. God deserves the best I have and I need to strive every day to give Him that. I want to know when I get home that I was pleasing to my Lord with the work I did here on this earth.

Prayer Dear Lord I come before you and I want to offer you this life that You have given me. Please take it as a living sacrifice and that it might be holy and pleasing to You.

Scripture Haggai 1:6 “You have sown much, and bring in little;
You eat, but do not have enough;
You drink, but you are not filled with drink;
You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm;
And he who earns wages,
Earns wages to put into a bag with holes.”

Observation: That is us today. We look for contentment and happiness in a world that can’t give it. We always want more or something different from what we have and expect to find joy. Joy only comes from the Lord and isn’t dependent of circumstances, but of the knowledge of God’s love. Paul talked that he was always content no matter what was happening around him, because He had found his joy in the Lord.

Application: All my life I searched for the things that would bring me happiness in this world and never found them. The search led me to depression and self-destruction. However today I spend my days with God and He has opened my eyes to the joys that He surrounds me with and I’m grateful to Him and that is where my joy is.

Prayer My Lord thank you for the joy of your love. Use me today to open the eyes of someone that is searching for that peace that only comes from You. Use me as You desire, your bond servant forever.

Scripture Zephaniah 3:17 The LORD your God in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing.”

Observation: We forget sometimes that God is in our midst and not distant seeing things from afar. God knows everything that is happening and that He loves his children and will save us when the time comes. His love is better than a father and when He sees us in gladness it pleases him and He comforts us in His love.

Application: I must never forget my Heavenly Father is always with me through the Holy Spirit, He guides me each day. He wants me to be joyful in the fact that He cares and loves me and I must reflect that love to others in His name. When I get anxious, I need to be still and know that God is always there protecting me and guiding my life.

Prayer My Lord thank you for all you do for me and that you love me when I slip into sin. Keep me focused on your desire for my life that I would be a light in this dark world and introduce You to others. I don’t understand your great love, but that I would receive it and love You.

Scripture Zephaniah 2:3 Seek the LORD, all you meek of the earth,
Who have upheld His justice.
Seek righteousness, seek humility.
It may be that you will be hidden
In the day of the LORD’s anger.

Observation: This is calling God’s children to seek righteousness and humility. That during this time we can be hidden from God’s anger and He will show us mercy. As God’s children we are called always to be humble, loving and serving unto the Lord. He should always be the focus of our love and we are called to be obedient in all that God calls us to do.

Application: I believe the rapture is coming soon and that everything is in place. I need to do whatever God calls me to do to be righteous that others may see me and that I will have the opportunity to point them to my Lord. I feel time is short and I need to be obedient in what God is calling me to do.

Prayer Dear Lord apart from you I can’t do anything, but I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Strengthen me today so that I may do your will and be there to serve others in your name.

Scripture Zephaniah 1:18 Neither their silver nor their gold
Shall be able to deliver them
In the day of the LORD’s wrath;
But the whole land shall be devoured
By the fire of His jealousy,
For He will make speedy riddance
Of all those who dwell in the land.

Observation: This is a reminder that no matter what you acquire on this earth it will be gone at your death. Bill Gates and George Soros will not be able to buy their way out of hell. I believe the day is coming very soon when this earth will be devoured including all the people.

Application: God calls me to do to warn those that don’t know Him that this day is coming. Live a life that might draw people close to me that I may tell them the truth about the last days. Prophesies have been fulfilled and we wait for the sound of the trumpet.

Prayer Dear Lord please use me as you will. Open my eyes to the plan You have for this life. May your servant be ready for when You call me home. I love You Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit help me live a life that shows that.

Scripture Habakkuk 3:18 Yet I will rejoice in the LORD,
I will joy in the God of my salvation.

Observation: This is what everyone’s focus should be our God. We should be rejoicing in our God and to trust in Him no matter what might happen here. He is the God of our salvation and when we are gone from this earth we will be entering home. With all the evil around us He is our God and He deserves our love, worship and trust.

Application: To be focused on God no matter what I’m doing I know I’m pleasing God. God is my joy and nothing on this earth should distract me from that joy. I need to show the peace and joy I get from God to others by the way I act and treat them.

Prayer Dear Lord help me get through another day and that I will rejoice knowing I belong to You. Show me how to serve others and introduce them to my Father. I’m your creation, servant and child command me in what will please You today.

Scripture Habakkuk 2:4 “Behold the proud,
His soul is not upright in him;
But the just shall live by his faith.

Observation: That was me, proud. I thought I needed to try to be proud, because I hated myself so much and needed to look for things within myself that might be worthy. I would put others down to lift myself up, but that didn’t work. God showed me the way that He wanted to live my life and gave me strength to do it. Now each day I live by faith, not in me, but in my Lord.

Application: I need to continue to increase my faith and stay close to my God. My strength comes from my Lord and if I stay close and read His word my faith will grow. I need to live by faith and trust in God.

Prayer My Lord You know your servant and how weak and distracted I get. Help me increase my faith and grow close to You. I love You and want to please You each day.
