My Master the Holy One

Scripture: Revelations 15:4 Who will not fear you, O Lord,
and bring glory to your name?
For you alone are holy.
All nations will come
and worship before you,
for your righteous acts have been revealed.”

Observation: God is our loving Father and also the Master of the Universe. We forget when we pray, who we are praying to and that He gave us this great honor that we can come before Him. I was reading yesterday about Bill Mahers a talk show host and atheist. He was criticizing a game played by Tebow, the quarterback for the Denver Broncos , a devote Christian and putting down my Savior. One day even Bill Mahers will no longer be an atheist, unfortunately it most likely will be too late as He bows before our God before entering his eternal home of pain.

Application: When I heard of Bill Maher’s comments I was outraged at first then the thought of praying for him came into my heart, not because of me but because this is what Jesus would do, love his enemies. There are so many people like this Bill and yet God wants none to perish so He placed us here to tell the story of His son and how they might be saved. I need to start doing my job and open the eyes of the Bill Maher’s that God puts in my path.

Prayer: Dear Lord your word tells me if I don’t warn others about their damnation that their sins may be cast upon me, but if I speak out in your name the decision is theirs. Give me wisdom and courage to speak out your love and tell others how you changed this sinner.

Again a Call for Endurance

Scripture: Revelations 14: [12] This calls for patient endurance on the part of the saints who obey God’s commandments and remain faithful to Jesus.

Observation: Just the chapter before God calls for patient endurance from His saints a virtue I lack. Patience is one of the things that seem hard for me, always wanting things done right away in my timing. I give up so easily but I’m called to endure and keep God’s commandments and to be faithful to Jesus. And how am I to be faithful to my Lord by standing up for Him in this world when others deny Him, to endure any persecution without giving up my hope in Christ.

Application: I know God’s commandments He has written them down and made them clear, so there is no reason not to obey. Each day I need to make a commitment to be faithful to my Lord so that others around me know where I stand and may see Jesus through me. I need to be patient I have a whole eternity to be with Him.

Prayer: Dear Lord give me wisdom and strength to be the man you desire me to be. Give me peace and patience to endure this life until it is time to come home and be with you.

Endurance and Faithfulness

Scripture: Revelations 13:10 If anyone is to go into captivity,
into captivity he will go.
If anyone is to be killed with the sword,
with the sword he will be killed.

This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of the saints.

Observation: As a saint I should have endurance and faithfulness, which I lack. I lack patience, wanting things to happen right away, endurance also is not my strength, I give up quickly and faithfulness dwindles in my life as my mind tries to calculate different scenarios without factoring God’s plan. I lack these things because I trust in myself most of the time instead of trusting God. I’m so worried making my plans work that I forget it’s God’s plan I need to be doing.

Application: Faith is what I need to work on because with faith all else will come around. Knowing God has a plan and that He will work it out in His timing and not mine will give me the patience and the endurance that will be needed. God has never let me down and there is no reason not to trust and so I shall.

Prayer: Dear Lord increase my faith. Open my heart to all that you have already done and embrace your servant that I may feel your love always and not be distracted with my own thoughts and worries.

The World Led Astray

Scripture: Revelations 12: [9] The great dragon was hurled down–that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

Observation: The world is definitely being led astray. Each day seems we grow further from God and what He desires of us. Sin has become a lifestyle for so many, so many murders each day it’s hard to count, the lie of evolution confuses our children, sexual immorality becomes more perverse and to speak out in God’s name is becoming a crime in this world. There are so many cults to confuse people and lead people astray and the devil has done a good job leading this world astray with his lies.

Application: I will never be able to bring this world back from Satan’s grasp, but I may touch the lives of a person or two and tell them about the promise of God and what He intended for us. Maybe God can use me to lead a couple out of the darkness and into the light of Jesus and who knows maybe that those whose hearts were touched may touch the hearts of a few more.

Prayer: Dear Father you saved me for a purpose and I ask you to make that purpose clear to me so that I may do your will. Show me how to make a difference in this world that has gone astray from your love and word.

When God Takes Back This World

Scripture: Revelations 11:15 The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said:

“The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ,
and he will reign for ever and ever.”

Observation: I look around and see how bad this world has become. We continue to take God out of everything, removing crosses, scriptures and God out of the lives of our children. We defend sin as an alternative lifestyle and this place is worst then Sodom and Gomorrah. I am so anxious for God to reclaim this place and to rule, bringing His love back to the world.

Application: I pray the time is coming quickly when God takes over the rule of this world, but until then He asks me to do things that would help bring his children home to Him. I’m called to use my testimony and knowledge of His word to touch the lives of others in His name. I’m here to help set an example of the love of Jesus and be a light in a very dark place.

Prayer: Dear Lord take this focus off of me and open my eyes to the people You have surrounded me with. Show me how to love like Jesus so others may see that love and draw near to you.

Who Is God?

Scripture: Revelations 10: [6] And he swore by him who lives for ever and ever, who created the heavens and all that is in them, the earth and all that is in it, and the sea and all that is in it, and said, “There will be no more delay!

Observation: I pray to God each morning, I hear people talking about and complaining about God, but do I really ever consider who He really is. He is everything, the creator of all things and if it wasn’t for Him nothing would be. He tells me in his word that He is a loving Father, my master and my friend, but why would God stoop down so low to even know me and yet He tells me He loves me.

Application: I need to stop taking God for granted and realize the magnitude of who He is and humble myself before Him. When I pray realize the privilege that has been bestowed on me that I can have an audience with the eternal creator of everything and that He listens and even wants to spend time with me. I need to treat him with the reverence He deserves.

Prayer: My Lord, my God, my Master I humbly come before you asking want you desire with this servant of yours. Help me show you the true appreciation and love I have for you.

Why Does God Allow Pain?

Scripture: Revelations 9: [4] They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only those people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads.

Observation: In Revelations God doesn’t only allow pain but commands it to those who aren’t sealed, believers, with Him. I know I wouldn’t have turned to God if it wasn’t for the pain I was suffering from depression. Unfortunately God is the last resort for so many, including myself. Nothing else has worked and I couldn’t stand the pain any longer and then I reached out to Him and He reached back. Revelations is the end, the last chance people will have before eternal damnation and God doesn’t want to lose any one, so it’s time for drastic measures so they will give in and reach out to God for their salvation.

Application: God has saved me from pain and has filled my heart with love and compassion. It’s time for me to use these tools to bring others to Him. That they may understand His love for them and that they will reach out and receive this precious gift God is offering them, eternal life with Him.

Prayer: Dear Lord use me to touch others with your message and show them your love through me. May I be a witness of your goodness and that you would use my testimony as an instrument to bring others to you.
