Chosen By God

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 1:[27] But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

Observation: I sure qualify to be chosen by God. What a fool I’ve been before and after receiving Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I remember even when I was a kid and they would pick teams to play baseball I was the last chosen because my athletic abilities were not very good. Now God has chosen me, a fool, to be used for a His glory. Finally I’m on a winning team. He has used me a few times already to touch the lives of others and I’m anxious to see how He plans to use me next.

Application: I’m still very lazy and avoid doing things and make excuses when things might come up. It’s time to make the best effort I can and avoid my laziness and to step out at any chance I can to glorify God. God is using me in the depression class He has given me and an opportunity to serve feeding the homeless at the beach and I need to put forth the best I can in anything my Lord puts before me.

Prayer: Dear Lord use your servant, this fool, to fulfill the purpose you have created me for. May I bring a smile to your face and be pleasing in your sight as I set out to serve others in your name. Strengthen me for I am weak and give this fool the wisdom I’ll need to make a difference in your name.
