Keep Pure Where God Dwells

Scripture Numbers 5: [3] Send away male and female alike; send them outside the camp so they will not defile their camp, where I dwell among them.”

Observation: God dwells in our hearts as the Bible states so we shouldn’t defile it. We should remove hate, lust, pride, coveting, and any other sin that would defile our heart for it is holy and to be pure for that is where God dwells. We think we own everything that we have, but in reality we own nothing, it all belongs to God. He has chosen our heart to live to help guide us on the path home to Him, but we are responsible for our heart’s upkeep, the cleanliness of our heart and mind.

Application: I have been having a problem looking at women and desiring more worldly things than godly things. I need to realize that God dwells within me and when I sin I’m defiling the place where He dwells. I need to keep His place in my heart clean and pure and make it comfortable for Him. He’ll never leave me or forsake me, so I want His dwelling place to be as nice as possible.

Prayer: Dear Lord forgive my sinful ways and help me keep you dwelling place nice for you. May you be pleased with the home you made in my heart and that I will not defile it in any way. I love you and I want to do what is right in your eyes.
