The Apple of His Eye

Scripture Deut 32:10 “He found him in a desert land And in the wasteland, a howling wilderness; He encircled him, He instructed him, He kept him as the apple of His eye.

Observation: Israel was the apple of God’s eye, His chosen people. Yet they decided they didn’t what to be the apple of His eye and searched for other gods to worship. As I read the accounts in the old testament it is so hard to believe the Jews could be so stupid as to deny God even after all the terrible things that happened to them and all the miracles God had shown them. Then I think of my life after the love and mercy my Lord has shown me I still do what I want instead of what would honor Him. How can I be so stupid and fall from grace so often.

Application: I want to be the apple of His eye. I want my God to be proud of me I want Him to be able to boast to the angels about me. I want it to be hard to find fault in my faith. That is what I want, but I need to put my Lord first in everything, in my love, time finances, whatever I have God needs to be number one. If I want to be the apple of His eye, He needs to be the apple in mine .

Prayer: Dear Lord how I want to please you each day, but I can’t do it on my own, I’m too weak. Fill me with the Holy Spirit and make me into the man you desire. Take charge of this servant of yours and command me each day what to do and how to glorify you. I’m a lowly servant and so happy that I am. Command me to do your will.
