Inquire of the Father First

Scripture 1 Chron 14:10 And David inquired of God, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand?” And the LORD said to him, “Go up, for I will deliver them into your hand.”

Observation: I do so many things on an impulse without thinking them through or checking with God first and have made so many mistakes. Before doing anything whether big or small I need to take it in prayer. God will guide us in what to do speaking to Him it will bring things to light and searching His word will give us the answer. If we do something for selfish ambition, which has been one of my biggest mistakes, you can bet it is wrong, but if we are helping others and doing God’s will it will be right and God will give us the peace and wisdom to be successful.

Application: I need to stop making hasty decisions and stop and pray before I do anything. Most of my impulses is to do something that might make me feel good without taking in consideration the consequences of my actions, but going to God will put my focus on His will and not my desires. I’m here as a servant, not a master so my actions should prove that out.

Prayer: My Lord guide and command your servant to do what you have called me to do. Give me the wisdom and patience I want to do your will and please you with the direction I go each day. My desire and goal in this life is to fulfill the purpose you have created me for, may I do it out of my love for you.
