God Owns It All

Scripture Psalms 24:1 A Psalm of David. The earth is the LORD’S, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein.

Observation: I own a house a car and other things or do I. When I die nothing comes with me, there is nothing that is really mine. The Lord owns it all and allows us to borrow things from time to time. Everything including myself, is owned by the Lord, King of the universe. Our pride makes us think more highly of ourselves then we are and that we are the masters of what we see, but that’s not true. Satan helps us think that way, because as long as we are thinking of ourselves, we’re not thinking of God. When we know who God really is we are left in awe and realize the honor and privilege it is to be able to speak with Him and that He cares for us.

Application: I need to realize the precious gift it is to be able to speak to my Heavenly Father and treat it as such. I need to know that He owns everything and I’m His possession as well. I need to humble myself before His throne and be thankful that He allows me an audience with Him. He is the creator of all things and for some reason He loves and cares for me. I am truly blessed beyond words and need to be thankful; at all times.

Prayer: My Lord, my God and my Creator. I humbly come before you with thanksgiving and awe. I don’t know why you love this sinner, but I know you do. May I humbly serve you all the days of my life and forever more.

I Will Forever Dwell in the Lord’s House

Scripture Psalms 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.

Observation: My Lord’s goodness and mercy follows me each day, however I can choose whether to take note of it or not. We focus on the things of this world, typically negative, and not focus on the goodness of God. He is there always and how we receive Him each day will determine how we serve Him. We are only here for a very short time and if we choose Jesus as our Lord and savior, we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. We have a hard time wrapping our minds around forever, because we can’t imagine it, but I believe forever is living each day to its fullest without measuring time, just enjoying being with our Lord in a place that is too beautiful for words.

Application: I need to focus on God and all of His goodness and mercy. He desires that I enjoy my life, but He asks that I use it for His glory. The eternal rewards are beyond our imagination, but we should be living this way to honor God each day. It won’t be long before I’ll be home with my Master and I can’t wait to dwell in His home, but I have errands to run before going home, there are several things that my Lord wants me to pick up on the way. I don’t know their names and most likely won’t find out until I get there, but there is still work to be done here and I need to do them for God’s glory.

Prayer: My Lord, my God and my Master, for only you are good and I can’t live without your mercy. Help me stay focused on you and your desires for this life. May I pick up all that you required your servant to get and that I will present them to you when I get home. May all that I do glorify you each day. I love you and desire to please you.

Prophecy Fulfilled

Scripture Psalms 22:18 They divide My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots.

Observation: In this psalm there are a couple of prophecies about Jesus that were fulfilled at His crucifixion. The book my Lord has me writing a key point is that the Bible is true and the main reason is that prophecy throughout the bible has been fulfilled. Written hundreds of years before Jesus crucifixion it gives details of what happened in a time were crucifixion wasn’t even thought of. So, if the Bible is true, we need to live our life a certain way according to God

Application: I need to live my life according to God’s word. I have no doubt that it is God’s word, but I don’t live each day as it tells me to live. I need to read each day and fill my heart with what my Lord is telling me and act on it. I need to obey His commands and do all it tells me to do and to tell others about God’s mercy and grace. I need to be quiet and listen to what my Master is commanding me to do.

Prayer: My Lord my mind wanders and so do I. Help me stay steadfast in your word and be obedient to all you call me to do. I love you, but I only think about that when I pray and write to you. Fill me with the Holy Spirit so I feel that all day long. You deserve the best I have all the time, help me accomplish that in your name.

Power to Trust in the Lord

Scripture Psalms 21:7 For the king trusts in the LORD, And through the mercy of the Most High he shall not be moved.

Observation: King David wrote this psalm and he tells us that he trusts in the Lord. Then he tells us through God’s mercy he will be able to continue to trust in the Lord. We think we can do so much and when it comes down to it, we can’t do anything without the Lord. Even trusting God, we will need His mercy and strength to do it. We have only two decisions to make are we going to live through God or without Him. The Bible says we can do all things through Christ who strengthen us and then it says apart from God we can do nothing. Whatever arrogance we have to think that we can live this life without God we need to get rid of and trust Him with all of our heart, mind and soul and ask for His mercy to be able to do so.

Application: I need to realize I’m powerless on my own. There is nothing I can accomplish apart from God and that I need Him for everything in this life. I need to fall on His mercy and ask for the strength to make it through each day and stay in close fellowship with Him. I need to live my life for Him and ask for His mercy, love and guidance each day.

Prayer: My Lord forgive my arrogance and pride to think I can accomplish anything apart from You. Hold me near to you and speak to your servant so that I may do what you command. Help me trust and love you the way that will be pleasing to you and direct my steps each day. I love you and what to finish well.

Fulfill My Purpose Lord

Scripture Psalms 20:4 May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, And fulfill all your purpose.

Observation: Before I was saved my heart’s desires always were of this world, a car, home, some new gadget, etc. Since my Lord is in my life it has changed, I want God’s purpose for my life. I need to do to fulfill my purpose in this life. I struggle trying to figure it out, but this scripture tells me what to do to ask God to fulfill the purpose He has created me for. We always want to work things out in our own strength until we realize we have none. God wants complete surrender and when we can give it, He controls how things are going to go, but if we don’t God will allow us to stumble through life on our own until we realize He is the Master.

Application: I need to follow God’s laws and be obedient each day. I need to allow God to take full control of my life and listen to His directions. I need to pray each day for Him to fulfill the purpose He has created me for and stop second guessing what I should be doing. I need to completely surrender my life to my Father’s will and honor Him with this life He has given me. I feel there is so much to do, but maybe He has just one thing that He wants to accomplish in my life. I need to realize He doesn’t need me to accomplish His plan, I need Him.

Prayer: My Lord I surrender this life to you. May it be a living sacrifice to you that You will use it as you desire and that you will fulfill the purpose you have created it for. Help me release the desire I have to control my life and listen to You each moment of every day on what You want me to do. I love you my Lord, help me show you.

Help Keep me From Sin

Scripture Psalms 19:13 Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; Let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, And I shall be innocent of great transgression.

Observation: A day doesn’t go by that I don’t sin, whether I’m looking at something I shouldn’t be looking at, thinking sinful thoughts doing or saying something that doesn’t honor God. The devil must laugh all the time at me the way he is able to make me look the wrong way. I blame Adam and Eve from succumbing to Satan’s lies and temptation, but I’m no better. Even when I know I’m about to sin, I still do it, just because I want to. I tell God each morning how much I love Him and how I want to do His will in my life and only a short time will pass before I’m proving myself a liar.

Application: Stop sinning!!! I need to get my priorities straight, I’m either a child of God or a friend of Satan. I need to work harder in being righteous and need to overcome this laziness so that I will be doing things that honor God and not myself. I need to stop putting my own desires ahead of God and that the desires I do have most be God honoring. It’s time to stop and I’ll need the help of the Holy Spirit to accomplish it.

Prayer: My Lord how many times have I come before you asking for forgiveness for the same sin. I need, I want to stop and live a righteous life, but I can’t do it as this sinful servant of yours, I need to change, so please change me and make me better. Help me righteous for you. I do love you and want to honor you for the rest of my life.

He Hears My Cry

Scripture Psalms 18:6 In my distress I called upon the LORD, And cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, And my cry came before Him, even to His ears.

Observation: I’ve done a lot of crying in my life, even before I knew the lord. I’ve been in distress most of my life and tried to depend on my own strength to get out and failed miserably. I still find myself in distress at times and now when I cry out my Lord hears me. He’ll use the pain of experience to make me stronger and more useful to Him. He comforts me and guides me. He always knows where I am and where I’m heading. No matter what I have done He still is there for me, listening, protecting and teaching me what I’m to do next. Why does He bother, because for some reason He loves me.

Application: I need to be speaking to my Lord at all times whether good or bad and come to Him with thanksgiving no matter what. I shouldn’t wait until I’m in desperate need, but I should be crying out for joy, knowing that He loves me. I need to put God first in my life and there should be no one or nothing that should occupy my thoughts as much as Him. I’m going down the final lap of life and I won’t have too many more opportunities to do it right and I need to start now, putting my Lord and Savior on top. My life should evolve around Him in all that I do, think and say, He needs to come first.

Prayer: My Lord forgive me for not putting you first all of the time. You deserve to be on the throne of my life and the first thing I think of when I get up and the last when I go to bed and all throughout the day. I do love you, but I want to live my life in such a way there would never be a doubt that you are the most important thing in my life.
