Testify About Jesus

Scripture: Acts 23:11 The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said, “Take courage! As you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.”

Observation: Do I have the courage to testify about my Lord? When it is easy with little or no confrontation there’s no problem but when it takes effort I’m not as willing. It’s easy to testify in front of believers it makes me look holy, but then they already know Him.

Application: God has put on my heart to set up a prayer table at the pier to testify and to draw others closer to Him, but I don’t have the courage to do it. I need to step out of my comfort zone and get busy on doing what God has called me to do, to spread the word of His love and salvation.

Prayer: Dear Father give me courage and take this laziness away and give me courage and wisdom to fulfill the purpose you have created me for. Use me to testify of your love and Jesus’ saving grace.

I am to be a Witness

Scripture: Acts 22:[15] You will be his witness to all men of what you have seen and heard.

Observation: That is what God is calling me to be a witness of His love and grace in my life. I’m to share how God saved me from a life of depression and guide others to His saving grace.

Application: Do not give up sending the email letter about my testimony to other churches and find other ways to witness to others about Jesus unfailing love. Spend more time doing the things that honor God and help touch His children through my testimony.

Prayer: Dear Lord your servant is lazy and self centered. Guide me to do what is right and of you. Give me the strength and courage to reach out to others in your name.

What am I willing to do in His Name?

Scripture: Acts 21: [13] Then Paul answered, “Why are you weeping and breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”

Observation: I was walking this morning and I passed by a home that was moving out and I saw someone I recognized from church. Instead of asking if he needed help I walked by hoping he would not recognize me, because there were other things I wanted to do. I’m not even willing to help a brother out in the name of Jesus.

Application: I need to start putting others first as my Lord put me first going to the cross. I need to be doing good in His name and that Jesus gets the credit for anything good that comes from me. I need to be willing to do anything in His name to glorify and honor my Lord.

Prayer: Dear Lord forgive this lazy servant and strengthen me to do what is right and direct my path. Open my eyes to your desires and not mine.

To Finish the Race

Scripture: Acts 20:[24] However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me–the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.

Observation: So many times my mind is not focused on the race and I continue to fall behind. God has given me a purpose a reason for my existence and that is to bring others to Him. Most of the time I’m not doing what I was created for. God has given me the gifts, talents and time to run this race and I need to stop walking and start running.

Application: I need to be bold and give my life to fulfilling the purpose God has created me for. Look for opportunities to share my love for my God. Get running and have my eyes fixed on the finish line and run as fast as I can.

Prayer: Dear Lord give me the strength to run this race in glory and honor to you. May I finish well and see you smiling at the finish line with your arms outreached to me. I love you Father, may I share that love with others.

Don’t Be Afraid

Scripture: Acts 18:9 One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent.

Observation: Why are we so afraid to speak out in the name of Christ? I believe it is more embarrassment than anything else and what a shame it is to be to embarrassed of our Lord and Savior. God has given us one directive and that is to spread the Gospel and He assures us that He is with us and there is nothing to be afraid of.

Application: I need to speak boldly to others about my Lord and Savior so others may hear the good news and not perish but have eternal life. Pray each day for God’s guidance and direction on what would please Him and not be afraid to approach others in his name.

Prayer: My Lord and my God, direct me each day to be bold and to speak out in your name. May I touch the heart of others and help open their eyes to your love and spread the gospel. I belong to you and desire to please you, help direct my path.

God Determines

Scripture: Acts 17:[26] From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live.

Observation: God determines what is best for me, where I should live what he wants me to do. He is the one I should be following, not my own instincts or desires. He has a plan for my life and I want to fulfill that plan in glory and honor to Him.

Application: To pray and follow God each day and ask him what he wants of me. I want to be where he desires me to be. Make sure that I do not stray from God put stay close and listen for His instructions.

Prayer: Dear Lord open my eyes to your desires and that I will be where you want me to be and I will follow you and do what you want me to do. I belong to you I am your servant, your child and your bond slave, lead me each day.

The Joy Of Belief

Scripture: Acts 16:[34] The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God–he and his whole family.

Observation: I remember that is where my joy came from, believing in God and it is still the source of my joy. I changed so much when I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior. The way I act and think, the way I treat others and my priorities are all different now. I want others to experience the joy I found in God.

Application: To allow God to work in my life and tell others of the peace and joy He has brought to me. Tell others of what God wants to do for them and all they need to do is believe and trust in Him.

Prayer: Thank you God for the way you changed my life. Continue to change and open my eyes to your wonders and to tell others about your great love. Show me how to show my love for you.
