Scripture 1 John 2:5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.

Observation: It is important that we stay in God’s word. There shouldn’t be a day that we don’t read His word and there is no excuse for not doing so. There hasn’t been a time that I read the word that I don’t get something new from it or confirm what I have in my heart. These are the directions on how we are called to live our life while we are here and we need to have them planted in our hearts and minds.

Application: Not only read the word but to apply it each day. To memorize scripture so that when I need it the Holy Spirit can bring it to memory to help others and strengthen my faith. Before Christ I was lost barely making it day by day, but now God has given me direction and a goal to reach for and I need to continue reading the map.

Prayer My Lord thank you for your word and love that You have given us. May I be a doer of the word and follow your directions in my life. Please guide me today as I walk and use me to help others in your name.

Scripture 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Observation: You think it would be easy walking in the light of our Lord, but it’s not. We are surrounded by darkness and the ruler of this world, Satan prowls like a roaring lion trying to devour us. When I see others that are shining the light of Jesus, I’m drawn to them and for the moment we are speaking there is no darkness but only the light of Christ. Those moments are wonderful because you can feel the freedom and know we are forgiven and enjoy the comfort of our savior.

Application: I’m called to be the light and represent my Lord as I go throughout my day. I need to search out those who also have the light of Christ to build each other up. Hoping those that are near or walk by see what our God has given us and desire the same light that we radiant.

Prayer My Lord thank you for drawing me near to you. May I stay close by and be a light in the darkness of this world. Bring others to me that we may share the joy that we find in you. Thank you, Lord, for all you do.

Scripture 2 Peter 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

Observation: The journey God has me on will end when I get home with my focus on the new earth that God has promised. I take each day at a time put stay focused on how wonderful it will be when Jesus comes and I get to live all eternity on the new earth that He will create. Each day I see glimpses of how wonderful it might be as I look at His creation and how it stirs my heart. God has given us the opportunities to see His invisible qualities in his visible creation.

Application: Help point out to others God’s wonder in what we see each day. Walk closely with the Holy Spirit and know how wonderful it will be when I arrive home. Do my best to fulfill my purpose each day living a life that will please my Lord.

Prayer Good Morning Lord. Thank you for another opportunity to serve you and others. Speak to me and guide me on today’s journey putting those in my path you wish to speak to. May my actions help someone reach our forever home.

Scripture 2 Peter 2:1 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.

Observation: There are so many cults led by these false teachers today. I run into them all the time as they sell their false religion to unsuspected people. They take what they want out of the Word and place words that don’t belong to entice others. God’s word is perfect and doesn’t need any other interpretation from man. I run into one on Sunday and the last time I saw them I felt led to quote scripture that it would be better to have a millstone tied around your next and thrown in the depths of the sea than make one of these little ones of mine stumble.

Application: I need to be in the word so I have it when I need it to fight off the false teachings of this world. I’m an ambassador of Christ as all Christians are and need to be prepared to defend my beliefs in Christ.

Prayer Dear Lord give me the knowledge and wisdom I will need to stand strong in your word. Use me to bring light to others that need to see you today and use me as you desire.

Scripture 2 Peter 1:1 Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ,
To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:

Observation: I ask each day that God will increase my faith. The closer we walk with Jesus the easier it is to obtain the faith that will please God. As we realize all that He has done in our lives, faith becomes easier. We don’t give ourselves to blind faith, but faith that can be seen and felt each day. The apostles asked Jesus to increase their faith and that is what we must do.

Application: Each day I ask God to strengthen my faith and as He gives me more it is easier to do the things that He desires. I see His faithfulness in my life on a daily basis and I try to share that with others as I walk. I give myself as a bondservant to my Lord and ask that He will use me to please Him.

Prayer Dear Father please continue to strengthen my faith and guide me through this day. I give you this life as a living sacrifice may it be holy and pleasing to you.

Scripture 1 Peter 5:10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

Observation: I try to fix my own situations in my strength, which I don’t have. Jesus is waiting for us to call on Him to perfect, establish, strengthen and settle us. God is our loving Father and cares for us and when we come to Him, He will help us get through any situation if we would just trust in Him. No matter what we are going through here on this earth doesn’t compare to the wonders we are going to experience in heaven..

Application: God has put on my heart that my life is a day at a time and He is always with me. No matter what I’m going through I can call on Him and He will strengthen me to get through any trial. Even if I suffer a life ending situation here, my life will go on in Heaven with my Lord.

Prayer Thank you Father for caring for me. I start a new day and I know You are always with me. Give me the strength and wisdom to do your will in my life and that today I will be a blessing to you.

Scripture 1 Peter 4:11 If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Observation: That is our jobs as Christians to glorify God. Others should be able to hear our words and see our actions and know we belong to Jesus. They should know that anything good that comes from us is from God and that He will give us the opportunities and gifts we need to do His will.

Application: I need to allow God to work in my life and when He does point others to Him. To stay humble and give all the glory to my Lord. Walk in the Holy Spirit and have him use me to do the will of the Father. To Be obedient and patient at all times putting God and others before my desires.

Prayer My Lord I’m yours, please be with me today as I go among your children and use me to glorify You. I thank you for all you have already done in your servant’s life and I ask that you continue to use me to please you.
