Daily Devotional

Scripture 2 Corinthians 6:10 as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

Observation: Most of my life I searched for happiness and was seeking how I could buy it. When I received Jesus, my perspective drastically changed and I realized I had everything I could possibly want. He gave me a joy I would never have expected and opened my eyes to the only thing I needed and it was His love. He took away the desires of earthly wealth and gave me a desire for heavenly treasures.

Application: I need not only build up my treasures in heaven, but help those that the Lord surrounds me with see the wealth that is available to them. God has given me a job and my salary is beyond measure and I need to do the work set before me out of the love of the One who gave me everything I need and more.

Prayer Thank you Lord for all that you give me. May I always cherish your love and share it with those you surround me with. May others enjoy the wealth of your love as I have.

Scripture 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Observation: Before Jesus entered my life, I was a terrible person, only thinking of my own needs and not others, not even my family. My Life has changed so drastically since I gave my heart to my Lord. He took that heart of stone and replaced it with a heart of flesh. My focus is now to fulfill the purpose God has given me out of love for Him.

Application: I live a day at a time and always with the Holy Spirit. I want to be the man that will please and honor my Lord. I love being around people and I need to share my faith with others. God has given me the gift of praying with others and I need to use that gift each day.

Prayer My Lord thank you for making me a new creation and not leaving me to be the wretched man I was. Use me as you desire and be with me each day as I journey through this place. Continue to change me to be more like your Son.

Scripture 2 Corinthians 4:16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.

Observation: I’m getting older day by day and I’m coming to the finish line of my race, but daily God enlightens me about Him. I may grow weaker in my body, but I’m becoming stronger in my faith. As God continues to give me more responsibilities and meet more people on my walks I grow closer to Him and others and see them more like He sees them.

Application: I need to keep close to God, because if I don’t it will allow Satan to get between me and my Father. I can’t get distracted on the mission God has me on but be focused on what He is calling me to do and not lose focus. Stay in the word and do what it says to do and to be obedient to my calling.

Prayer My Lord I need the Holy Spirit in my life to teach me. May I always be obedient and not fail to please you each day. Please give me strength, knowledge and wisdom to accomplish this.

Scripture 2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Observation: If we allow the Holy Spirit to do His work we will be transformed more each day to God’s glory. Depending on our walk with our Lord will determine how much we will be changed to be more like Christ. The closer you get to anyone and spend time with them the more you’ll know and be able to relate with that person and the same is with Jesus. If we spend time with Him through the Holy Spirit we’ll get to know Him and what He has in store for us.

Application: I really enjoy my daily walks on the beach with the Holy Spirit. He introduces me to so many of God’s children and uses me to speak to them. The more I hear the prayers He uses to speak to his children the more I understand about my God and the love He has for us. I need to spend as much time as I can with him and to allow the Holy Spirit to transform me to my Lord’s likeness.

Prayer My Lord use me again today to do your will in my life. Speak with me as we walk and open my eyes and heart to what you want to teach me. Thank you for spending so much time with me, I really enjoy these moments.

Scripture 2 Corinthians 2:9 For to this end I also wrote, that I might put you to the test, whether you are obedient in all things.

Observation: Tests are good they increase our knowledge and grade us on our performance. I’ve gone through a lot of tests unfortunately my grade point average is not very good. I’ve improved as I learn through experience and God’s word. I’ve discovered my obedience is key in passing these tests and when I trust God instead of myself, I excel in performance and my grades improve.

Application: I need to start each day in prayer and reading before going out in the world. I need to make the commitment to do as God calls me to do each day and listen to the Holy Spirit as he guides me. I’m not here for my sake, but an instrument that God wants to use for others.

Prayer Good Morning Lord it’s a new day and my goal today is to pass any test You put before me. May I be focused and aware what you desire me to learn and that I will be a good student in serving you today. I love you and want to honor you with my obedience today.

Scripture 2 Corinthians 1:4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Observation: This is one of my favorite scriptures, because it is how God is using me. I suffered from depression most of my life and now as God is guiding me through my depression, I’m able to give others hope and guidance on how to be released by its grasp. God has allowed me to speak to others, write and teach on my experiences with depression and He has used these efforts to help others.

Application: I need to continue to use what God has given me and share the comfort that God gave me in my darkest times. Sharing my testimony helps show me how God reached down and changed my life and how He works in me each day.

Prayer My Lord thank you for comforting your servant who does not deserve your love. Put those in my path that are in need of the testimony you have blessed me with and use it to draw them close to you.

Scripture 1 Corinthians 16:13 Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.

Observation: This is what I need to do each day, to watch for God’s calling, stand in faith knowing His will, will be done, be brave knowing God is with me and be strong not being swayed by temptation. Each day I’m closer to coming home and it’s important that I’m ready and pleasing to my Lord.

Application: Today is another day on my journey home. Not feeling very well, but I know God will get me through according to his mercy and grace. I need to stand strong in my faith, watch for what God wants me to do, be brave knowing that He is with me and depend on the Holy Spirit for strength.

Prayer My Lord strengthen your servant. I ask for a healing in this old body. No matter what your grace is sufficient for me and I trust that you will have your will done through your servant’s life.
