No God Like You

Scripture 2 Chron 6:14 and he said: “LORD God of Israel, there is no God in heaven or on earth like You, who keep Your covenant and mercy with Your servants who walk before You with all their hearts.

Observation: When I first read this of course there is no God like God, because there are no others gods. But that’s not true because we make up gods and worship things as god that are not. We set possessions, career, other people and other things above God at times, forgetting about God and all that He is and has done. There is no other god or anything that can compare to our loving Heavenly Father. We need to walk with servant hearts each day focused on our Master to live a righteous life a life that honors God, but will also fill our heart with joy.

Application: Keep in mind who God is and that I’m allowed to talk with Him and have a relationship with my Lord. Keep in mind who He is and who I am. He is the Lord of all things and I’m a lowly servant that my Master loves. I need to work on my pride and the way my mind wanders all of the time and stay focused on my mission here and on my Lord.

Prayer: Dear Lord there is nothing like you and there is nothing that deserves my love, obedience and worship as you do. Everything else is trash compared to you, may I live a life with the focus on you and the purpose you desire of me. I love you and want to give you my best help me stay on the path.

Dedications to God

Scripture 2 Chron 5:1 So all the work that Solomon had done for the house of the LORD was finished; and Solomon brought in the things which his father David had dedicated: the silver and the gold and all the furnishings. And he put them in the treasuries of the house of God.

Observation: What do we have to bring to the house of God? What do we dedicate to God, most of us don’t have gold or silver to present to our Lord, but we have something more precious than that, we have ourselves. We have the time God has blessed us with, our gifts and talents and most importantly our love. That is what God wants more than anything our love and obedience and one goes along with the other. That is what we are to bring into the house of our God and dedicate our lives to Him. To serve with a joyful heart, serving others in His name and showing others His love through us.

Application: I need to dedicate my life, not just an hour here or there, but my entire life. Whenever I do anything it must be done with God in mine and bringing each moment before God and dedicating that to Him. When I bring my dedications to His house I will see them when I get to Heaven and I want Him to show me a large room filled with my dedications to Him, I don’t want it to be a small closet with a couple of dedications, but something that will honor my Lord and Master.

Prayer: My Lord I dedicate this life to you, but I need your help letting go of it. I am yours and I will never be worthy, but may a day not pass by that I come a little closer in glorifying you. I love you and you deserve the best that I have, I dedicate that to you.

Doing What We Are Supposed To Do

Scripture 2 Chron 4:11 Then Huram made the pots and the shovels and the bowls. So Huram finished doing the work that he was to do for King Solomon for the house of God:

Observation: We are called to be the body of Christ, a part of the church. God has given us the gifts and talents we need and He desires us to use them in glory and honor to His name to serve others. Huram used his gifts to do his part of the temple of the Lord, because of him the temple was complete. There were thousands of people that used their gifts to build the temple and we are still called today to do our part to complete the work of Christ.

Application: I need to stop being so lazy and selfish with the talents God has blessed me with. We are involved in a few things now, but I need to consider the days I do nothing for my Lord. My purpose for being here is to do to glorify God and sitting on the couch is not honoring my Lord

Prayer: My Lord give me the discipline to do what you call me to do. Give me the strength and knowledge to step forward to use what you have given me for your glory. Help me earn rewards in Heaven and to please you each day. I need your help to guide me and get me going. I love you and what to honor you with this life you have blessed me with.

Building the House of the Lord

Scripture 2 Chron 3:1 Now Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the Lord had appeared to his father David, at the place that David had prepared on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

Observation: Our bodies are called the temple of God, and like Solomon we should be building the house of the Lord. We should keep our body strong and not defile it and it should be dedicated to God at all times. Our mind is part of the body and it should be built up in the Lord by reading God’s word and other books that will help us know God in a closer way.

Application: I have let my body go. I have a hard time walking, I’m over weight, I have diabetes and just don’t take care of myself. Because of the lack of exercise and not maintaining my weight I have become lazy and have a difficult time sometimes doing what honors God in service. I need to make a better effort of losing weight, exercising and going to the doctor to take care of my legs and feet so I can do the things God calls me to do.

Prayer: My master please help me. Give me the discipline I will need to stop eating so much and to eat better. Give me the strength to exercise and do what will strengthen your temple so that I will honor you with service to others.

God the Creator of All Things

Scripture 2 Chron 2:12 Hiram also said: Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who made heaven and earth, for He has given King David a wise son, endowed with prudence and understanding, who will build a temple for the LORD and a royal house for himself!

Observation: I pray to my Heavenly Father each day, but I forget most of the time who I’m allowed to talk to. I’m allowed to talk to the creator of all things, the God who created me allows me to talk to Him whenever I want. What an unbelievable honor to be able to go before the throne of God and make my requests and talk to Him about whatever is on my heart. How often I take this privilege for granted and talk to Him as if He was my next door neighbor or a new acquaintance.

Application: God the Father deserves the utmost reverence and I should be in awe to know that I’m allowed to make my request to Him. I should never take it lightly that I’m praying to the creator of all things and that there is nothing He doesn’t know. What’s even more incredible my creator and God loves me and watches over me, something I don’t deserve and never will. I should be on my knees with my head down in humility before my Father and not dare say a word out of reverence to Him, but that’s not what He desires, He desires a relationship with His creation. I need to remember who allows me to come before Him and speak in a way that He deserves.

Prayer: My Lord, Creator and God, thank you for hearing me and caring for me even though I’m an unworthy of such an honor. Please show me how to live in a way that will make you proud of me and that when the time comes I will be welcomed home. Help me finish well in glory and honor to You.

Praying in God’s Will

Scripture 2 Chron 1:11 And God said to Solomon: “Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked riches or wealth or honor or the life of your enemies, nor have you asked long life–but have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that you may judge My people over whom I have made you king–

Observation: Solomon cold have asked for anything, but he asked for something that would glorify God. He wanted to fulfill the purpose God had created him for and knew he couldn’t do it in his own power so he asked God for the talents he would need to do what God desired. God was so blessed with his request that He didn’t only give Solomon what he asked for , but much more. Solomon blessed God with his request and God blessed Solomon with riches and power if he would just stay in God’s will for the rest of his life. Solomon received what God promised, but through his life strayed from God’s will to do what he wanted and he paid the price for his disobedience.

Application: God has blessed me with so much and He answered my prayers, but like Solomon I get comfortable and stray from the path that God put me on. I need to be focused on my Lord so I don’t get side tracked all the time and remember all of his benefits. He gives and wants do give me the desires of my heart, but He can’t reward sin so I need to stay righteous and stay on the path all of my life and when I see I’ve wandered of the path I need to get right back on and ask forgiveness for not listening to my Lord.

Prayer: Dear Lord I thank you for all the many blessing you have bestowed on me, but I need your help. I can’t stay on the righteous path you have chosen for me without your help and guidance. Please give me the wisdom, knowledge and discipline it will take to finish this race in the way you desire it to be run. I love and what to honor you my Lord, please help me.

All Things Come From God

Scripture 1 Chron 29:14 But who am I, and who are my people, That we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from You, And of Your own we have given You.

Observation: When we give to God sometimes we think it’s a big deal. Maybe we do a special event that took some of our time, donated some things or money, but we forget no matter what we gave in God’s name was still God’s. We honor God for the faithfulness of following His commands by being generous, but no matter what we gave it was God’s. We become so stingy at times with our possessions without realizing they aren’t ours in the first place. If we were to go home today to be with the Lord all that we have accumulated will still be here.

Application: I have become to protective of what I have and I have become stingy about giving. God tells me to be generous to others and I’m not. What He is saying share some of the stuff I have with those I surround you with. Don’t be a hoarder with my stuff, use what I have given you to fulfill the purpose I created you for in the first place. I need to think of the needs of others before my own and this is hard since I’ve been so self centered most of my life, but I need to let go and use what God has blessed me with for His glory.

Prayer: My Lord help me be more generous with all that you have given me. Help me stop looking for ways to please myself and start pleasing you with this life you have so generously given me. Humble me before others that I may give freely from all that you have given me.
