I’ll Be A Servant of God

Scripture: Revelations 22: [3] No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him.

Observation: Before becoming a Christian I would have thought being a servant would be the last thing I wanted to do, but now knowing my Lord and all He has done for me I can’t think of anything else I would rather be than His servant. Just think I’ll be with God forever and that won’t be enough time to tell Him how much I love Him.

Application: I need to start practicing my serving now by serving His children in a way that would honor my Master. Jesus came and gave me an example on how to serve and give of myself and that is what I want to do. I want to wash the feet of His disciples and serve others in my Lord’s name.

Prayer: My Master and my God. I am humbled that I could be your servant and I want to serve you completely. Help me each day get better on serving you and others and humble me before your children. I love you and desire with all of my heart to be the best servant I can be for you.

There’s No Crying in Heaven

Scripture: Revelations 21: [4] He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

Observation: God personally will wipe every tear from our eyes. There will be a time that there will not be any more crying, anxiety, depression, regrets or pain. We will be with the Lord God Almighty, but even on earth we can experience some of that. We can experience it if we draw near to God and feel His presence in our lives. When we trust in Him and allow God to direct our life we can know the absence of pain, even if it is for a little while.

Application: To be in that place I need to be, with God. He is always there it’s my choice to call on Him or not and ask for His guidance and peace. He tells me if I ask for wisdom He will give it to me and I need it. He has my life planned out for me and a plan that I will prosper and have a hope and a future, but I need to be by His side each day and allow Him to take control.

Prayer: My Lord you are my God and master. Thank you Father for taking away my pain and using it for your glory helping others see you. Please use me each day to please you and direct me in my steps so I don’t go astray. I love you Lord may I live a life showing you how much.

Need to Be A Fireman for God

Scripture: Revelations 20: [15] If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Observation: God wants none to perish, but He has given us a free will and some will decide to spend eternity separate from God. If others are like me God gives us more than one chance to receive His mercy, grace and salvation. There is no reason apart from God’s love that I’m not burning in Hell right now, but it’s my turn to help turn others to God and away from their sinful ways. God has given me the opportunity to be a fireman for Him and help keep others out of the fire.

Application: That is my main and everyone’s main purpose is to help others find their way home to their loving Father. God has given me gifts and talents, but most of all He has promised if I step out He’ll give me the words to say to melt a hard heart. I need to get myself in more situations where God can use me for His glory and live a life that points others towards Him.

Prayer: Dear Lord thank you for not giving up on this sinner. Help me now guide others to you. I’ve experienced your great love first hand and I need you to show me how to tell others about your desire to be with them. I love you Lord may my life reflect it.

One Wedding I Don’t Want to Miss

Scripture: Revelations 19:9 Then the angel said to me, “Write: `Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he added, “These are the true words of God.”

Observation: I don’t get invited to too many things and the few things I do get invited to I usually make an excuse not to go. However this is an event I can’t afford to miss and can’t believe I got invited to. I’m not worthy of attending, I have nothing to give as a gift and yet for some reason I’m welcomed. An invitation from God to celebrate the wedding supper of the Lamb. I won’t care where I sit as long as I’m there.

Application: God has given me eternal life through Jesus and now I’m invited to spend all of eternity with Him. I need to get prepared by bearing fruit for my Lord, spreading His gospel, loving others and to share the testimony my Lord as given me. I need to do this each day to the best of my ability and to ask my Lord for help to accomplish His will for me on this earth.

Prayer: Dear Lord I thank you so much for the invitation and I’m unworthy of such a great love. I can’t wait to be there and I ask you to help me each day that I’m here to get ready for the feast by bearing fruit and serving others in your name.

We Are Like the Wicked City

Scripture: Revelations 18:14 “They will say, `The fruit you longed for is gone from you. All your riches and splendor have vanished, never to be recovered.’

Observation: This verse is about what is going to happen to Babylon in the last days. However it describes everyone. There will come a time in everyone’s life that no matter what we have accumulated in wealth and what we planned to do with our lives , but didn’t get around to will not matter. Only what we do for the kingdom of God will last for all of eternity. People we help lead to our Lord will have a home in heaven, things we did to reach out to others may have turned a sinful heart towards God, but everything that we collected for ourselves will vanish, never to be recovered.

Application: Stop doing things that won’t last and get busy bearing fruit for my Lord and Master. I was at church yesterday for the Potter’s Field ministry and the Holy Spirit was pricking my heart when he said God created us for a purpose and only He knows the outcome. I need to be around God more so I can follow His leading in my life. He didn’t create me for me, but for His glory.

Prayer: My Lord I’m here because you desire it so. Take this selfish man away and fill me with the Holy Spirit so that I may bear fruit in glory and honor to you. I’m here to be used by you, so please use me the way you have created me. May I be pliable clay so that you can form me into the image you desire of me and may I become a noble vessel, that I may be used by you.

My Lord of lords and King

Scripture: Revelations 17: [14] They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings–and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.”

Observation: So many times I forget how powerful Jesus is because I think of Him with such a great love. Jesus is also the conqueror of Satan and all powerful and I belong to Him. When I think of Him as the lamb I think of a mild creature, not realizing the reason for the reference is that He was the atoning sacrifice for my salvation. How could a mild and gentle man take the punishment and torture He took for me. He conquered death and rose again to save the likes of a sinner like me.

Application: Jesus is God and all powerful and has my future in His hands. When I get afraid and overwhelmed I need to realize the strength my Lord and Savior has and He can defeat anything and that He loves me. I will never understand His love and sacrifice fully on this earth, but I need to trust it to live a life in glory and honor to Him.

Prayer: My Lord you sacrificed yourself for me and I don’t understand why, but Lord help me trust in you fully and understand how I might bear fruit in glory and honor to you. You are my Lord and King and I’m a lowly servant in your service. Command me to do your will in this life. I will honor and love you always.

Clothed and Ready to Go

Scripture: Revelations 16:15 “Behold, I come like a thief! Blessed is he who stays awake and keeps his clothes with him, so that he may not go naked and be shamefully exposed.”

Observation: My mind is not always on God it wonders constantly about things here on earth and my fleshly desires. I have hateful and selfish thoughts all of the time and I judge others instead of loving them. If Jesus comes back at that time will I be dressed to go or naked sitting in a corner in shame?

Application: I need to be dressed at all times with my thoughts and heart on God and not me. When I meet others this is an opportunity for me to treat them with the love and respect God calls me to. I need to be busy doing the will of the Father and not my own selfish desires. I’m here to serve and be obedient at all times and be ready to go home when Jesus calls me home.

Prayer: My Lord I need you always. I’m a sinner as Paul said today in my reading I’m constantly doing the things I don’t want to do and not doing what I should be doing. I need your strength and guidance to make it through each day and to be ready at any time for your return.
